What is the point in assignments if you get to pick which one you want to be in? What would be a valid reason? Are there any other schools "playing up"?

How do you get to choose your district?

So, since Tucker said it...that makes it so. I would think that if Pulaski had played the first game that they would have came dressed. Especially if coach Hines had not be told he would have a place to change. I guess they were supposed to sit over at their school a mile down the road and wait for the call around 10:30 to bus on over. Or better yet come on over and sit through the first game fully dressed for three hours. As far as the visitors side goes a potty and a water fountain would be nice also.

Why would this game have meant more to Pulaski? The fact that they BEAT two time regional champion tells me that if they had played in the same region that Pulaski quite possibly would have taken that region. At least it will not mean much this year as we already know that Pulaski can beat em. It seems like SHS is always making excuses....when they win; it's because they are so great and when they lose; it's because those other schools are so darn big.

I have yet to figure out why SWHS and PC continue to play in this bowl year after year and Somerset never plays at either of their places. As far as records go, the two teams (SHS and PC) do not even play in the same district so I doubt their records are comparable. Considering PC has beaten Somerset two of the three times they have played them in the bowl; had they played in the same district I would think their records might be comparable. Pulaski may not have had the greatest record over the past two years in their district but at least they didn't jump classes to avoid the competition. As far as the article goes, coach Hines just said what a lot of others were thinking.

"The corn-fed country boys"--if you will check YOUR sports rosters you will find most of them neighbors to those country boys. Maybe all of those kids on that tuition list need to eat some "corn". My children go to the county and we don't even own a tractor--hard to imagine huh:confused:

Congratulations PC. At least now maybe we can be spared the arrogance and gloating from the purple and gold at least for the rest of this season. As a poster on one thread stated that they predict Somerset would still go 7-3 and Pulaski 3-7, Schedule? Schedule? Schedule?

Actually, Pulaski County plays both and Somerset plays Cal Ripken. The Cal Ripken League is Lake Cumberland and I am sure between the South and the North, it is made up mostly of county kids.

Actually, Coach Mac was personally involved in the communication with Purdue on behalf of John. Who would have figured that the SHS faithful would try to take credit for this one. Good Luck John!!

We have also had several boy's and girl's games on the same night at different venues. It is bad for everyone especially for the parent that has a boy and a girl playing. There needs to be more communication between the AD's and the Boy's and Girl's coaches. I do not have a problem with the double headers. Let's do Boy/Girl varsity doubleheaders on Tuesday/Friday and schedule Boy/Girl JV on Monday/Thursday. Freshmen on Saturday.

Play down to their competition? Are you implying they are better than all of the teams they have lost too?

Or in some cases lesser....bigger doesn't always mean better.

I have never really understood the reasoning for the all A, there are AA, AAA and AAAA schools who have never had the opportunity to go to state either but there is not a special tournament for them. Also, some schools are "A" when they choose to be. At least one all A school is playing up in football next year. Why do schools have the option to play up to avoid competition when they choose. If we are going to have classes, schools should have to play wherever their numbers place them. Just one opinion.

I guess this game was at SWHS? The Raiders owe a few of their wins at home to the refs as well. Looks like they are getting to see what it is like when the shoe is on the other foot.

Didn't Danville have some players transfer to Boyle? or was that last year?

The Watts kid had a good game. He is just a freshman right? I do not remember him playing at the middle school. Did he move in from somewhere else?

I agree with you on that. However; I do not think Somerset's success defines the strength of the 12th. When was the last time they even made it out of their district? Even when they are having what appears to be good years, they manage to stink it up during march madness.

For their sake maybe, but I doubt the rest of the 12th cares if they manage to pull out a win for the rest of the season.

I am not saying coaches shouldn't be allowed to go, I just do not agree with this being a "perk". All educators are overworked and underpaid. Often while coaches are at practice, other teachers are attending faculty meetings, committee meetings, etc. etc. I just do not buy three days out of class to attend ballgames on the school district or athletic department whichever the case may be. Especially with the difficulty these days just to provide the necessary items to run programs.

:fight: Actually no I do not think they deserve "those" tickets. I think "those" tickets should be offered to the schools that are participating. Why should students and parents have to sit in the uppers so that coaches whose team is not even playing get the lowers to sit and socialize and network themselves into a new job for the following year--especially doing so on the schools athletic budget that is raised by students and parents. If they want to go...let them take a few personal days, buy their own tickets, room and food and enjoy the game from the best view they can afford.:fight:
