Why are there no middle school teams in NKY--Do they play Babe Ruth or in a league?

Right--true "freshman" (not 8th grader) which is what the thread is about.

Most 8th graders playing up are probably supposed to be 9th graders anyway.

Why do you think this? If the Somerset System was so great they wouldn't need the Pulaski students to survive. It would be different if you accepted students on a first come first serve basis rather than their athletic ability. I can promise you those with IEP's are left at the bottom of the list. Otherwise, how could a student who was not on any waiting list one year end up enrolled the very next year--that list must be awfully short. BTW, the housing is much cheaper in the city than where I live. And in comparison, I think the county academic/sports programs are doing just fine.

They can--it's called buying a house in the school district.

Why do you think that no one would attend? There would be just as many schools involved. Do you think the administrators and coaches would choose not to take the week off school and attend? Most of their schools aren't participating anyway. What makes you think the sweet 16 always produces the best as the champion. I would think the match-ups throughout the tournament have alot to do with who prevails in the end--especially when two of the better teams match up early in the tournament. Many times there are teams in the sweet 16 who couldn't win the district in another region. jmo

I guess the pre-season polls were correct since all of the teams mentioned above made it to the regional tournament (even if you don't know how).

Do the other states have their games in the middle of the day allowing school administrators/coaches to get several days away from school at the expense of the school? I would guess there is alot more networking and catching up with old buddies than actual game watching. Otherwise, why would you go to the games through the week and then not attend the weekend games? I'm sure this is not always the case, but alot of the time it is.

Are you kidding? I guess that could be true for any team. If we just had...... Looking at scores, Lincoln looks to be about 30 points better so you better make sure that point guard your talking about can shoot the three. Lincoln clearly brings it in the 2nd half . Congratulations and good luck at state to the PATS.

True, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. So....when you try to get people to come to your school and they choose another--don't accuse the other school. This is not the 80's and I too know of the reputation they had when you were in school there. Not being a PC graduate, I can only speak of the current school and these kids, teachers and coaches, etc. can't help what happened in the 80's. If you were so discouraged at PC, you should have had your parents get you on that waiting list.

How is it that some can be on that waiting list for years and others can go straight to the top? The problem is Pulaski BOE should be overseeing the tuition list. Sorry mom, one only needs to drive through Eagles Nest and see all the little bunny ears for all your athletes. I don't think they give those out to all kids do they? BTW, Eagles Nest is in the county.

With a large lead, why would you take a chance on getting one of your starters injured. Is scoring 100 points worth risking this close to tournament time?

With the flu going around...I'm sure all of the teams had players under the weather. There will always be some kind of excuse--if we had been in their bracket etc. etc. Congrats and Good Luck to Scott and Christian Co.

Does the Diaw boy usually play with Royal Springs? I noticed in their conference tourney recently no one really played Scott Co. close except for Madison. Did Madison not have a team in the state tournament?
