  1. PG Shayna Giwa SG Jim Ryan SF Cory Sorrel PF Jontai Scruggs or Joe Sullivan C Will Eifert
  2. Does anyone Know if Jontai Scruggs will be back for HC, he did a terrific job on Cooper last year. Jontai hurt his Knee in preseason and has missed the first 4 games.
  3. With HC only playing six players I am assuming their starting PG and PF were both still out with injury can anybody confirm this, also the 6'5" JR off the bench.
  4. IMO when Rice was on the floor and in the right state of mind he was the best player in the region last year. If he can stay on the floor and out of the doghouse he has to be the frontrunner for POY, and is more than capable of making up for the temporary loss of DJ.
  5. congrats to BHS I hope Bankemper is back next week . Elliot is a stud and should pick up any slack until Bankemper is healthy. On D I thought the Finan kid did a great job, he is better than I expected. HC seemed to get rattled after the blocked punt and it took them almost the whole first half to regain some poise, once they did it was a pretty evenly contested game. But to BHS's credit even is what you want to play when your up 27-0. Here is hoping for 2 great weeks of playoff football in NKY.
  6. Should be a very good football game, barring any lopsided turnover margin . I dont think either of these teams can pull away from the other w/o the big turnovers. This should be the start of 3 great weeks of football in NKY 1A.
  7. Does Cov. Holy Cross and Brossart play this year? Their games the past 3yrs have been great battles. IMO they are both the class of the A teams in their regions
  8. Does anyone know how Kyle York is doing? I saw him with ice on his neck early in the second half and then did not see him again. From everything I have heard he is a great young man as well as a great player, I hope he is okay and ready to go for next week.
  9. HC seems to be hitting their stride at the right point of the season, should make for an interesting game in 2 weeks.
  10. Does HC stumble before their big wk 10 match-up or does Ludlow's problems stopping the run continue.
  11. I heard he is still on the team, but was not allowed to dress for the Varsity Bracken Co. game today.
  12. Hey I think I was the only one that posted on the first thread that didn't get suspended. I hope that wasn't an oversight
  13. It has always been played at every event Ive been to. If you were at an event with more than one game it usually only gets played before the first game. The one thing I don't like at football games is that it usually gets played before the teams come back on the field. I think all participants need to be on the field for it's playing.
  14. Who will be in HC's 2A district next year? I keep hearing how they won't be able to compete. NCC will always be tough, Newport will be good as well, but Lloyd looks to be moving in the wrong direction, and those are the only teams I know. HC has beaten NCC this year and beat Newport on all 3 levels (varsity was just a scrimmage) . They are not NCC or Beechwood their program is only 8 years old those are urealistic goals for a program with such a short life. With that, they certainly look like they are moving in that direction, their entire program's record at this point is 13-2. As for contender or pretender time will only tell, but it doesn't look like they are going to get run over by any one in NKY 1A this year.
  15. I agree with SM41017 while they were over matched on this night, I beleive that packing it in sends the wrong message to your kids.
  16. The key to the HC victory over NCC was there ability to stop Vicars. If Dayton can do that they will have the same shot at turnovers as HC, but if NCC can establish the run look for the pass attempts to be down and fewer shots at turnovers. NCC's defense is very good Dayton needs a couple of short fields to have a chance. Good luck to both
  17. HC is very big, especially upfront they should own the line of scrimmage, if that happens it could be a long night for the Tigers. HC 28 Bellvue 6
  18. The way this is set up you might as well let everybody in and seed just like b-ball. I am not saying that is what I would like to see,but just that this really minimizes those regular season rivalry games. They mean far less knowing you will see the same team in the playoffs in a month or so.
  19. Setting up the playoffs this way really minimizes your regular season, once you get in there is a slight advantage to be #1 but no advantage to be a #2 over a #3.
  20. While I wasn't completely sold on Koz x's and o's the punch them in the gut running to set up the long pass to 6'7" receiver has worked very well this year. To stop their run you have to stack the box and to do that you have to be willing to go one on one with their receivers. The strategy of rely on your d to keep it close, win the field position battle, and take your chances deep seems to be working very well.
  21. Holmes will have penalties but if they can eliminate the presnap penalties there speed should take over this game.
  22. The key to this one will be HC's pass defense they have shown an ability to contain the run, and run with power on offense. If they can contain the pass this one might be a little closer than most people think but if they give up the big play it might be hard for them to keep up.
  23. The 78 state championship game. As a kid setting in that endzone for that game I was hooked for life not only on b-ball but sports in general. One other memorable moment was wathching Travis Ford attempt to pull his team through the semi's, he failed but it is still one of the best shooting performances I witnessed
