Looks like this could be a good one.

 

Expect Holy Cross to run the ball but at some point they will most likely have to throw it to put points on the board. Holy Cross has been winning and coming from behind in two games to do it so they won't panic if they get down in this one.

 

NewCath offense has sputtered and the defense hasn't been that bad considering the offense often leaves them in bad field position. Expect more starters to now also play special teams after being CovCath had numerous long punt and KO returns.

 

"Home" field might help NewCath since they have been on turf three times already this seson.

I believe Newcath takes control early and wins by three TD's.Newcath has played a moster schedule and it will show this week how good they are.

The key to this one will be HC's pass defense they have shown an ability to contain the run, and run with power on offense. If they can contain the pass this one might be a little closer than most people think but if they give up the big play it might be hard for them to keep up.

NCC should roll in this one... they are hungry for a win.

After struggling with all the competition from the larger classes, I sort of feel like this might be a good test of where NCC is, playing a team from their own class, and a feisty one at that.

That's actually a good point. They are averaging what...16 pts or so per game? I haven't been able to see them play yet, what's the deal? Do they not have receivers, is Harris still too rusty, is the line not what it was cracked up to be? For as much experience as they had coming back you'd figure that you'd be able to run the ball consistently and not have to pass as much as last year.

I don't think they are attempting to run the ball that much. However, its going to take good execution to be able to run the ball against Cov or Ryle's defenses this season.

The one thing they are doing is running the ball. 183 yards against Ryle and 175 against Newport and 93 yards against a very tough CovCath team.The problem (IMO) is they haven't been able to balance the passing to take some pressure off opf the run.Right now the D follows Vicars on his first step everywhere.

 

6 turnovers in the Ryle game lost it.Without those turnovers NCC wins.2 were in the red zone one in the endzone.They played a very good CovCath team and did not allow a point in the second half to the Offence.Not saying they would beat CovCath but special teams killed them in that one.They played a 110% better game last week and made great improvements.They are going to be tough to beat in 1A.

I see NCC rolling somewhere in the 42-7 range, NCC gets healthy this week.

I'm not sure NCC can score 42 points. They haven't exactly been quick strike this year.

NCC gets the offense going in this game, and Holy Cross wont be able to do much against NCC defense.
