  1. T is loaded with talent and have 90 plus kids out. X has low numbers 60-70 is what I have heard from some X guys, not sure about the talent.
  2. Hey, Male is not in your DISTRICT so stop with the we have the hardest schedule junk.
  3. I can tell you that there was some rumbling last season @THS b/c not enough homer-ism i.e. too much criticism from broadcast team. That being said, what suggestions would BGPers make so that the Rock broadcast would be worth listening to regularly. I'm in the not so critical camp...but mostly, I like what I hear when I can get reception.
  4. 1. St.X 2. Trinity 3. HC 4. Scott Co. 5. Manual 6. Fern Creek 7. Male 8. Dunbar 9. BC 10.MC I give X the 1 spot due to more returning starters.
  5. Major reason for the three year title games 2000-2002
  6. Easy Bush, Spencer and Barclay(sp)( before bush was fulltime QB).
  7. For me I don't care if it was a football game, horse shoes or pickup sticks if it is an X guy I am playing against, I want to win(to be the best you should try to beat who you consider to be the best competiton). So yes the regular sesaon game still means a ton to me. To say that it does not or to even imply such is grounds for excommunication! Now buy a beer for Ox as an act of contrition.
  8. Nice, real nice. CR said it "this ought to be a good thread".
  9. Only two teams with a shot( preseason that is) and they are CCH and JH.
  10. ^ Sorry I put Parkway and not Park1221. I lived on Parkway.
  11. T will only stop itself on O but it can be slowed down and the only scheme's that work are of the 4-4 or 3-5-3. These are only run well with very good coaching.
  12. Parkway I was not trying to be critical of Glaser and the staff, just what I have seen from them (X) since I played. I used 2005 and 2007 as the examples not to be rehasing but rather to point out that it has proved out to be the case. You are correct that the out come could have been different had it not been for one play or another. Point being that the X-T regular season game has not been that cloe and that it has been the dominance of the X line play that has made it so. I really don't have a problem with the offensive philosophy as I love the power game it is just that X always seems to peak early and I think it has more to do with the lack of something more added come playoff time( to the O scheme, as the D is always top tier) then something of major change. All I am saying is that to beat an X team today one has to match the line play in order to have a chance. For Manual to really compete with X they must over come this. I will say that the reason Manual has played well against T in past years is that the type of really good players they have year to year is a better match up against our style of play on O, less power more spread the field. Male had it all in 2006 just came up short. Manual I felt had it in 2003 but lost to many kids to the injury bug. I really feel that the only differnce for T has been the style (offense) we play, it just gives us more opportunities to score in close games and we have gotten great at doing that.
  13. It has been stated before but I feel the key factor for Manual geting over the hump with X is the front line play on both sides of the ball. This is the key and as long as Glaser is the HC it will always be so. T has had difficulty in the regular season game with X due to some kids having to go both ways but not really having had enough playing time or practice time at the second position specifically the D line, hense the domince X has been showing off in the regular season game. T uses the regular season and playoff games very well in so far as pulling the kids together. By the time we play X in the state these kids who are going both ways are ready. 2005 and 2007 are perfect illustrations of what I am saying. Manual has the same issues with X twice a year but until Manual can match the line play I do not see them knocking off X.
  14. Very good point of a public school that has the support of the community and a very good head coach. As was the case back in the day when Brown was at Nelson. A public school could become as good as X and T every year if the support is provided. BC did it all through the 80's and early 90's. It is ha hard road to travel which is why we only have a hand full of programs in the State of KY that are considered the best.
  15. CR this is exactly the point of 7 on 7, you are on the money. it is all about timing and to have the opportunity to do that work against one of the best programs in the state is priceless!
  16. Barrel you make some very good points, however as I think it was rockpride who stated that Boone Co. this past playoff season came with an offensive game plan that for my money is the way to beat T. Ryle did not have enough of a passing game to make this a close game. X has the best running attack in the state year in and year out and they have had to add more passing to the attack then Glaser would like, to beat T and looking at the playoff history of the last several years X has not done so well. You are correct in saying to beat T one must keep the T offense off of the field. As for making T run the ball, come playoff time I always like our chances running the ball as the running attack comes on late in the season for T, so I do not think it would have made much of differance in the outcome or for that matter the margin of score come the final play. Trinity was going to win by a large margin in that game any way you slice it.
  17. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY SHOULD DO. But only if they can get a line.
  18. I can see Red running this type of O as it would fit very well with the type of players he has year in and year out. It also lends itself to the kid at QB who can run well but is not the typical Male throwing QB. As for the D, Redman could run a 3-3-5 stack and cause a lot of teams major problems with the skill kids Male usully has.
  19. First we have to change/modify the D for it to become stingy. I will agree given the potetial talent on the D side we could be a very good defensive team in 08 but only if the talent is cut lose more condusive to the abilities of the players.
  20. Riverside very good points about Tim and Jordan. However if you reread what i wrote they are not the big keys to what makes the Rock Offense so great. Tim came on late in the year and played so very well like he had in late 06. He was the icing on the cake for an already very dangerous O in both years 06 and 07 I expect that in 08 it will be much of the same for Tim. Jordan will lead our D as well as any star LB has in the past, but in the modern age of Trinity football as the O will go so do the chances of T winning State.
  21. I call it like I see it. I Love Trinity and have for 41 years but the Rocks will not win this year. Trinity has as much of a chance as any good team but this mix of players is missing two key factors that the last three teams have had. OL with three returning starters and a QB that not only understands the system but can control a game. I know everybody is going to say that Stein was a one year starter and all but that kid was a proven winner long ago. he had that special something that I do not see in the up coming QB's for 08. I hope to be wrong but do not think that I am.
