  1. This Lou X team does have the team speed to play with the Cinn X squad but it will not be a 34-10 win for lou X. This game will be the hardest of the season for the tigers. The thing that might hurt Lou X the most going into this game is the level of teams played thus far. Cinn X 21- Lou X 10. I hope to be wrong, would rather the Tigers win this one.
  2. Yes I know and you had a really good game for our D.
  3. Yes I remember as my younger brother was on the 94 team. Go rocks.
  4. Yes old ground Chuck was my coach, but it was long enough ago that I had him when he was on the Defensive side of the ball. Still one of my favorite coaches and to your point he was a great back for the Rocks.
  5. It will be a week to week issue. He is out this week.
  6. Yes it was 03 and before that it was in 98 when we played Elder and Cinn X in back to back games like this year. Also happened in the 95 season when we went 5-6 and prior to that in 94 we lost back to back games went 11-4 and won State against Boone. Prior to that you have to go all of the way back to the 81 season when we lost to Ballard and X in back to back games. Not to bad raelly! As I stated in an earlier post I think we will be fine come playoff time but just not as good as has been the case the past several years.
  7. I do not think this is a very good Trinity team at the moment. They will get better but will not end up being as good come November/December as they have been the past several years. Having said that I do feel that Trinity is still ahead of the curve in relation to most teams this year in 6A say for maybe one and we will find that out come OCT 3. Manual will be an interesting game in that NL's offense was WingT based with outstanding speed coming out of the backfield and some nice Gun T pass plays to several very good WR's particularly number 5 (big and fast). Does Manual have similar success against a Rock defense that lost focus on assignments in the second half against NL ( Rocket sweep was killing us late in the game). I don't think Manual has as much speed but I could be wrong. This game is very important for both teams as each needs a win. I see the Rocks pulling out a 4th quarter winner by 10pts. Good luck to both schools, stay safe.
  8. I agree with everything The Engineer said... we are lucky in this state to have so much good talent so we should all be happy and congratulate these kids. Littrell really picked it up this spring and early summer. He hit 94 and worked at 90 in Cincy as he shut out a very good California team. He also went three innings with five K's and one run at the East Coast Pro Showcase... a scout invite only event for the top 150 players in the nation. Whispers are he could be taken in the late first or mid-second round in next years draft. You want to know the best thing about him? He's a good kid and is respectful to the game. I think every player mentioned in this thread is worthy of their recognition and I'm excited to see the quality of ball these guys put on the field next year.
  9. This guy... he may be the best is a several state radius.
  10. HC has had some of the best talent in the state several times in the last four or five years. They have yet to prove they can play smart football for four quarters in the big games both from a player and coaching stand point. I hope that changes this year and they live up to the hype for a change. X has a lot more speed then most people think and will once again be the team to beat in 6A.
  11. Interesting point for later arguments is that all of the teams--Manual, St. X, Highlands and Trinity--play powerhouse teams from Cin. this year (who also play each other) and X, T and Manual all play. Highlands could be the best of all this year, but we can only guess, since they are not on the other two (X and T) schdules. Highlands wins this game. H- 41 M- 17
  12. Long road ahead for this group. Much work to be done but come end of the year we will be fine. Look for 3-2 record by mid season losses to both X and the Elder squad you pick the X squad.
  13. Littrell is only a Junior this year and many expect him to be a Mr. Baseball candidate next year.
  14. Sad to hear Littrell's grandfather passed away early this week. I don't think it will affect his availability for play.
  15. Funny thing is it was station that made the last run back in 99. I hope they do as well, I would love to be talking about three or four teams at the end of the season come playoff time that had a good chance it would really be good for 6A.
  16. Playing on Saturday night will end up being a better deal for the kids the fans and the travelers from out of town. Huge for pregame events. Adds one more day of prep for the kids and coaches as well. I like the idea and remember playing all of our home games back in the 80's on Saturday night due to Bacon's shopping center being closed gave for extra parking, we always had a good crowd.
  17. Is the Lewis kid(LB&DE as a soph) coming back next season? If not who are LB's and DE's next year
  18. 15-20 kids is way down, what has happened to this class? I know it was small to start but those are really low numbers.

  20. JR, I am sorry but in many ways we are saying the same thing. As it has turned out T has as you pointed out had the injuries during the tougher part of the season, for us it is the first 5 games. I was pointing out that X fans have been pointing out in the past that X has had the late injury bug. If you look at the first 6 games it is a grinder for the rocks but it will get easier (not a knock on the remaing teams just not the same caliber of team as the first 6) in the last 4. I look for T to play a lot of the young players during the first 6 games to develop the line play on both sides of the ball and build depth for the final third of the season. This formula worked in 05 due to early injuries and we had major play from our sophs in the playoff and title win, and we have some really good sophs coming up this year. Nix was huge for us last year.
  21. ^ Tall and lean on the DL, Tall with some good size to the OL. Trinity has a lot of young talent but it will take a good portion of the season for it all to work itself out. I look for T to be 8-2 going into the the playoffs. Elder will be to much for the Rocks early on. T will beat one of the X teams. I like the fact that we end the season with Lex Cath as they are a well coached and well prepared team good to have before the playoffs. Would rather have had it been Highlands but maybe one of these years.
  22. Jimmy, I would say that the injury bug has hit T very hard the last few years going into the X game(sept,Oct) on the OL and has been of benifit to X. Yes come playoff time T has been healthy and won ever time, while some on the X side have said that the injury to key players has been an issue for X come playoff time. T has a grinder come playoff time if you look at the teams we have player from 06-08. The fact that we have as you pointed out not lost a QB or RB is amazing to me considering the OL losses. Look at the regular season match-up when X just beat on Smith all night long and he still did not go down. Call it luck if you want but to me I think coach M does a great job of having these kids ready to play from a conditioning standpoint. Trinity has been good for a long time but since the conditioning program they are currently using came into place we(former players) were never as well prepared physically as these kids are today, specifically in the last nine years.
  23. THS, the first time I know of was the '83 team. Rings were done by Geo. Richards Company and were in the $100.00 range.
