  1. 62,69,74,75,78,86,92,95,97,99,04 This is all the KHSAA has on record for X.
  2. Could someone please give me the years for the Thirteen Titles. I only come up with eleven. Is X back to counting Titles that did not happen? Sad
  3. Everyone will get to see the X example next year as they return most of the team and the Duece will be the man. For T the same can be said with Stein at QB as most of the O return minus some great Line players(Center and Guard). Minnifield for HC without question he was everything for them this season. As for Beaumont Male would have had a very good team without him but with what he brings to the table without quetion not the same team IMO.
  4. Taking into account just the fans from Ryle and all the T fans and local football nuts the crowd would be small. I think that we must also take into account all the highlands fans that will be traveling to Louisville and cheering for Ryle to help keep Trinity from getting number 17. Could be a record crowd for bad wheather.
  5. I agree with RockPride X will have something to prove next year and has the players to do it( not saying they did not have the players this year but this team had some major group dynamics that just were not clicking). Team chemistry will not be an issue for this next squad. New stadium, renewed attitude on team defense ( which is a staple of all good X teams) and a heavy plate full of in your face power running to go around for everyone.
  6. H, I will concede the point of the Big three that you are making present day.
  7. H, you do not know your history very well as trinity had to play X every year as another district game. This did not change until the plaoff format change in the late eighties. Most of our titles came during the time frame of which I am referring to. Also as a side note Bobby Redman was at Ballard from the mid seventies until the late eighties then he went to Waggner and continued having dominate teams only losing to the Rocks. During this time peroid we were also playing Boone County which as I recall was a pretty good team. I stated to look at the history. As a side note our 83 title came by going through X twice once regular seson as a disttrict game and the second in the old City title game. We also had to play Male during that playoff run a 3-0 win. The West may have been on the up swing in the last few years but not historically.
  8. H, from an historical perspective Trinity has played many teams back to back to back that were the best of thier district or region in the state to become the state champs. I suggest that you and all the other West lovers look at the past thirty plus years and then tell me that Trinity had it easy. If resent history shows anything it is that T has taken on the best from the West and Won.
  9. Many coaches do have that kind of talent and cannot get it done.
  10. Ryle fans and players congratulations on making your first State game. This is without question a major turning point for your program. This is great for Northern Kentucky football. I hope that Ryle is everything that the fans are saying they are in these threads. For the last two weeks the Rocks have had to play the best teams in the state. Speed, size and depth the whole ball of wax. Now it appears we will be playing the best team from NK since the 94 Boone team. Thursday will be very interesting.
  11. AL you are correct. When I played at Trinity it was no different it all comes down to the perception of to much success. As for Douglas he is the best two way player I have seen in this state. It was a pleasure to see him play last Friday I wish him much success in College.
  12. The Rocks will have to wheather the emotoinal storm that will be HC. Home field, last years loss etc... Good pressure from the Rock D-line on Friday will go along way to determining this outcome. I have heard from several good Lexington sources that this is a good HC team and they stress the word team. Time will tell.
  13. Oxnard I do not think X laid an egg in the State title game. In all my years as a player and fan I know that you can throughout records and who has the better team when it comes to these two schools. I was on the same losing end in the eighties not state but playoffs and we were the heavy favorite,as a class we had not lost to X until that night and we had 4 players drafted in various rounds from that team and had our hat handed to us along with some other things by our bother school. Not trying to rehash old thread debates just how I see it.
  14. Yes Brent Curley, sorry at this hour I forget my kids names.
  15. Not by much but some of our best QBs have not been over six feet. Stein will bring more speed coming out of the pocket. Nick has been one tuff leader in big games so we will miss that for sure. i think what he has done for two years speaks for itself. I think X felt alot of that this past season, great year but seemed to be missing that one player in the pocket that had lead them so well. sorry name eludes me but that kid could play.
  16. Will Stien(sp) looks the part he will bring a very well balanced pass/run threat to an offense returning most of its starters.
  17. If one were to compare HC and T last year HC had more talent. The game was lost before it was even played when the coaching staff at HC made the decision not to run the ball from start to finish on a Rock defense that was not good against the run. Instead HC wanted to pass the ball which for the first time in a long while the rocks had two outstanding ahteltes in the secondary and a third that was coming into his own. This was not smart football. I have seen from the field and the stands many teams out think themselves leading upto a game with Trinity. HC is a fine program we shall see what this year holds for both teams after friday night.
  18. You could play this game in any wheather condition you want and it is still going to be the game of the year.
  19. Male High is ranked # 3 in a national poll this week. I know that this has more to do with College polls but that number has been the downfall of some favorites as of late. Go ROCKS GO.
  20. I will be taking the three hour trip fro the east end of town to Male High to see the ROCKS Roll.
  21. The game will be broadcast on 900 AM and streaming on the internet. Go to thsrock.net and click on "listen to Rocks Football".
