I was on that team, Mike and I were in the same class. Our starters at the T spots were Kenny McMillen(sp) and Don Krouth(sp) Mike was in the rotation later in the year but not a starter.

No theyu did not all start as Sophs Only Andy M which was only the first game at LB. Hurt his leg and played in the rotation the rest of the year. Moved to running back as a junior because we had Scott T and Todd Coke back at LB from the prior year. All started as Juniors. Carwell was a DG on the 84 title team and moved the LB with Andy M as Seniors. Mike P played alot as a soph but did not start. The 83 team was loaded with a great senior class we should have won state just fell short in the semi's to a very good Southern team.

Yes we were 0-2 going into the 04 game and almost won so I don't think we have lost our perspective. Besides this is what pre-season hype is all about. We all know very well the game is won on the field not in the chat rooms. X has 2 very tuff opening games before us and may not even be #1.

X will not write us off as they got a good taste of what we are all about in 04 only winning on the last drive of the game 24-17. We could have won that game by three field goals had we not gone for the TD everytime we were in the red zone.

Pro-style sets from X with equal run pass relation. O-line has good size every year. Backs are very fast. Defense in the secondary most years is a plus for X seem to have one or two playing College ball every year. Lbs This year are very good Fred Craig is the real deal. For the rocks to win this game I think our D will have to be the difference, I do not see the Rock O scoring 30 plus points on X. I see this game much like 04 with the winner being decided in the later stages of the 4th Quarter. Rocks win 21-17.

This would make a great book. Take all the top programs in the state and write about the teams history with coach and player interviews asking the same questions of all teams. i think we would see the recurring theme over and over. Just a thought.

This is true BG will be a good test to start the season, always well coached and an outstanding KY program.

My main concern is that St. X will have played two very good programs prior to us playing them.

He has looked very good so far, more size and it appears has the same mobility.

Yes they are the third game which is why I made my earlier post. this could be a special team, the stage is set like 02.

Good first srimmage for both teams this one I want to see.

I agree the first and the third games will tell a lot about this team early on.

How many times did you see the 3-5-3 D scheme thrown at you to shut down the passing attack or was it more 4-3 base. I ask because everytime I see teams try to shut down the spread it opens up huge running lanes in the middle. With a good back that hits the hole fast major 5-8 yards damage can be done quickly placing the D back on its heals and openning up the passing lanes once again.

Yes you Did have a great run in the 90's a good chunck of those boys came out of St MM who got great coaching from former T players. See Ox we even try to help you guys out once in a while just to keep things eventful.:banana:

I like the sound of this defense. Last time we had questions about a young but fast D was 02 and we know how good that D turned out to be. Gooooooooooo Rockssssssssssssss.

PT was also undefeated and lost in the 3A semifinal to BC 35-21.

I would like to see H use the spread formations and attack with the running game. Defenses have to respect the formation or pay the price. This also opens up the line and gives good backs the opportunity to make big plays.

Sorry it has been a long time since I was involved with grade school coaching so not sure on the names but I do know the QB is headed to X. Thats all I know others from OLOL could give a better picture.

If Ryan Frederick is anything close to his father in talent he will do the Rocks proud.
