  1. One last point I would like to make about this game. Victory is won in the line of scrimage. If HC can win that, they win. I do not see that happening as it was the case last year when HC had more speed and the same QB. Jeter and Minefield were in the secondary and did not stop the Dutton twins I do not think that HC has that kind of talent this year. Again HC has to win in the trenches to beat Trinity and only two teams have done that all year and they are both named X.
  2. HC is a good team and have proven they deserve to be respected for what they have accomplished in the last three years driving deep into the playoffs. I know this is going to be a close game for 3 quarters but I think that this Trinity team is starting to play to the preseason hype. I look for the rocks to win this game 34-17. Good luck to both teams, HC fans travel safely.
  3. The Lit rating is a joke always has been.
  4. Very good points but if the teams were to play every year with each of the best we are talking about having the runs each has had and they were to play home and home series yes I think the big class would have more wins but not that big of a lead over all. Given the current schduling issues teams are having maybe it can be decided on the field. Anyway it is nice that we can have this type of dicussion due to having so many winning programs in the state of KY.
  5. The 4-3 D for X was a great move by the coacing staff and I am sure BG had a lot to do with that. X has taken advantage of the players they have with speed and size in this scheme. I like the O it is good but it really is the D that has made X so dominate this year.
  6. I used that game as it was the last time we played HHS and that was also the same time frame that HHS was on a great run. BG gave us a very good game t home this year and has played X very tough as well in close games. My point is that I do not think that the big class would be that dominate over a long period of time, might have the edge in victores but not as much as some think. JMO based on thirty plus years of watching the better teams in KY play.
  7. I look for the Rocks to take another major step forward this week to becoming the team most thought we would have this year on both sides of the ball. HC is a very good team that will give Trinity much to prepare for on the defensive side of the ball. The O for the Rocks must keep improving in the running game. Tim is running hard like he did at the end of last season. Outside of a major meltdown I look for the Rocks to win this game.
  8. Honestly I really think that is the best teams played each other every year I think in the long run the win/loss would not favor the large class that much.HHS, CCH, BG and some others have great programs and have had some monster runs with teams that were better then the 6a teams. HHS beat Trinity in 2000, BB's first year with a very good team and Trinity made it to the title game that year. Just one example but I would think that over time again it would not be that one sided. As for this year I would say X has the edge for now we will see how it all ends in 3 weeks.
  9. Rocks make a big statement tonight. This is the breakout game the D needed, a little work to do on the not so special teams (kick coverage) but that will be taken care of. HC is next come on Friday.
  10. I have seen how well this team can play. If that effort is given from start to finish Ballard is not in the game. If the effort of the first game defensively is given Ballard is in the game. I look for this to be a statement game for the Rocks on both sides of the ball.
  11. 14-10 X wins with late score on the legs of Big Z.
  12. Best post ever what a great read!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks
  13. Ox the key to that X offense has always been the line schemes. The O is simple but preparing for the line attack is another story. Most teams just do not adjust well and X always has a very good back to exploit the large holes.
  14. Yes I am sticking with the top portion but do I really pull against the Rocks no way but that D is still a major concern of mine. I do like the new DB's good move more speed on the D side. The LB"s and line play needs to improve. We have maybe the two best LB in the state as a team and most of the night you will see B stunts called that take them out of the play. Sorry but I just do not get it. TB is a long time coach with way more experience then me so I will wait and see wht happens.
  15. Manual was up 34-14 at one point.
  16. The 6A race is down to four contenders. As coach B said the eyes are foucused. I like that a lot and the D is starting to come around. Go Rocks
  17. This is the game that shows X has the finish mentality. With DF out I predict an emotional pulling together of the seniors. This is what makes teams that have really good depth like X become champions. I would rather have had X fat and happy as they were going into the playoff. I say this with no disrepect I think X just got a lot harder to beat,JMHO but I have seen this happen before with other good programs.
  18. Rockpride you are so right about Dunbar and the game plan. I like the progress from both sides of the ball. We seem to be getting back to better OL play now the some players are back in the line up. Three more weeks to flush out the kinks.
  19. I have seen them the last three years and this year they look to be playing better D.
  20. Third round. If these two teams don't meet, T and HC a major upset will have happened.
  21. I agree about the drop off to a degree. A lot of the better players on this team were forced into action as sophs in 05 when T was hit with a rash of injuries. Most of those earned 5-7 games of playing time that year some more some even both ways. I see quite a few sophs this year that fit that mold of very good player potential but had not been playing. I think as the weeks move on we will see as much speed playing on the D side as is possible to put on the field at one time and still understand the asignments to be carried out. The big issue for Trinity as I see it is the continued intensity of the defense.
