Should Male move the game to Papa Johns?

Featured Replies

I think Male should move the game to the superior playing surface as a defense against any possible bad weather. Keeping the game at home is taking on an added risk.

I think Male has the best natural surface in Jefferson County. It didn't look bad at the Male Manual game, has it gotten much worse.

Can they do that?

I agree Male has an awesome field/stadium/etc. but if it rains I think Male is better off at Papa Johns than they are at home.

I would rather play Trinity at Male as long as the field is OK. But I agree that Papa Johns would be superior to a wet and torn up Maxwell Field playing surface. Not sure if they will move it. I don't know how far in advance the stadium has to be lined up. Anyone know?

I would guess that as long as it is available they could have it.

I think you can move a playoff game to any location, as long as both schools agree on it. Male/Trinity at Papa John's would be a good idea.

Wouldn't that possibly give them or Trinity an unfair advantage in the State Chapionship should they get there?

I think we know a guy that knows a guy that might be able to work it out. In fact it has been booked for this game in the event that X won for some time. It could be done, It should be done, but in the end it won't be done.

I believe that Trinity and X had an agreement that if they were to meet, the game would be at the pizza box, regardless of who was the "home" team. I can understand the Purples wanting to play at home. It is their prerogative.

I am glad to hear you say that H because that is exactly my point. Male needs to move this game for their best chance to win. Male would be a favorite if the two teams played on the Moon but they would be a bigger favorite at Papa Johns.

Play the game at home. Male earned the home field advantage and should not go to a neutral site to please the Trinity fans because they bring an Army. It will be crowded and some people may not get in but they have done this in basketball before by the fire marshall closing the doors not letting people in so football should be no different. Make someone come to your place and beat you.

Two years ago, Madison Central hosted Scott County in the regional championship at EKU's Roy Kidd Stadium because Central's field was torn up badly.

Moves like this normally don't help the home team since home field advantage is gone.

Earned? Male and Trinity were both #1 seeds and district winners. Its just their turn.
