Should Male move the game to Papa Johns?

Featured Replies

You said 10,000 at the Male game last night. All of that, plus concessions to Male. If they rent UL, they split the gate with T, so even at 18,000 people in attendance, that takes their share to 9,000 (1,000 less than last night) and they have to rent PJCS (who knows how much) and they may not get concessions sales (again, who knows what happens on this end). fiscally, it doesn't make sense for Male to move the game. Considering the atmosphere at Male too, I think they'd be smart not to move the game.

In the playoffs the teams split no matter where the game is played. Fiscally, I think the smartest thing would be the Pizza Box...if the weather is moderate, the crowd will be close to 20K, I also believe if you rent the Pizza Box, you get a percentage of the concessions....it is worth the switch..though Male has never played there.

Well, you need to take off those clown shoes then!

But they're the only kind that fit!

I wouldn't rag Male for whatever decision they make, it's just personally, I'd go if were at the Pizza Box, and I'll pass if it's at Male. I'm sure the biggest concern of Male is whether I'll show up or not.

I think you can move a playoff game to any location, as long as both schools agree on it. Male/Trinity at Papa John's would be a good idea.

If the 20,000 alumni are flying in for the game to watch T, they better move it to the Pizza Palace.:D

Let them find a seat (or a place on the fence) at Maxwell field. Male's home game and would be very surprised if they even considered moving it to Papa John's. The atmosphere there friday was hard to beat and played well into Male's favor.

I would bet that Redman could care less how many Trinity fans are flying in from wherever to watch T. ;)

As public school, would Male get to keep game proceeds (rather than the public school district)? If so, what would they be earmarked for? Would Male really have an incentive to have a large gate? Would it really make any difference to them?

The CJ is predicting rain Wednesday and Thursday with partly cloudy skies on Friday. The field will be a mess.

^^^^^^^^And we are used to it.

Do you think the Dawgs gain an advantage on a wet field? It seems the answer is no. They struggled to beat X on a wet field and won with ease on a dry track.

I think the answer here is that X physically outplayed Male in the 2nd half of the first game. The first half was a one-sided rout, wet field notwithstanding. In the game on Friday, Male's play on defense was much more sound the whole game.

no way at all.

Homefield advantage, If you play at Pappa Johns then you basically give it to Trinity.

and also you want to save Pappa Johns. You want the championship game to mean something. To feel special when you step on the turf. Not just another game.

Well said Pride. hey, if it rains it rains big deal there is nothing that can be done about it. Everyone will play on the same field. The only thing I hate about Rain is Momma has a huge umbrella and all the excess water goes on me. This time I'm walking the sidelines.

PLAY AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Larry, how did you like that game Saturday night? Shula's seat must be getting pretty hot.

As far as the game Friday goes. The place will be packed. The field will be less than ideal, but what the heck. IMO it should have been moved but its not my call.

LSU...After we lost to the Bulldogs at home we realized that winning against the Tigers and the wartigers was impossible. Now after the wartigers lost at home to the other bulldogs we might at least give them a game. Good luck the rest of the year and how did y'all lose to the wartigers and only score three points? And we were down 21-14 and driving when our QB dropped the ball and then I knew it was not meant to be. The coaches seat is hot and should be. MSU at home is a nightmare.

My wife got home from the team meeting for the parents and they are getting ready for the game at Maxwell Field. We are hoping to have more food and hot chocolate to handle all the fans, so spread the word and bring all the fans and have a great time. Y'all have been in so many "Big Games" like this and will be ready to give a 100%. Our history in the past few years isn't like the Rocks and the last time we played I believe the Rocks won. So, good luck and we can talk more later this week. Hey look me up, I'll be wearing...
