Should Male move the game to Papa Johns?

The concessions and bathroom situation at Male has always been a nightmare...but most every high school has poor parking, us to.

When I was a senior we played 6 games in old Cardinal Stadium, 1 in the Hoosier Dome...and I couldn't wait to play more in old Cardinal Stadium I love playing on that field.

Old Cardinal Stadium? OUCH!!!

That turf was atrocious, would tear the hide off an elephant.

All this just kills me!:madman:

Who determines "proper manner"? And who exactly is the resident expert in putting games like this on? I would assume if it is NOT up to YOUR standards then Male should NEVER be allowed to host a home playoff game again.

Talk about a cavalier attitude. I think if nothing else, the Male team (Seniors especially) should have the satisfaction of playing ONE LAST game in their stadium. That alone is reason enough NOT to move the game. What if the teams in question were Larue County at Mercer County and they expected standing room only numbers, would they too be expected to move the game to PJCS?.......NO! Just because it is here and possibly available does not mean Male should move the game there. To assume they are "selfish" is ridiculous because you do not agree with their decision.

Lighten up, Francis. I'm not talking about having a game in the lap of luxury. I'm talking about the basics of security and health.

And I don't know where you assume that anyone is "selfish" because I never mentioned that in my original post. Where did that come from?

It really dosen't make any difference the best team will win regardless of where the game is played, but this selfish decision will stop many local football fans from seeing a great football game, I believe about 500 fans were turned away last Friday at the X- Male game and that is a shame. It is someones blind personal agenda that is driving this decision to play at this small facility.

I don't know why they are concerned, I saw what the two Male players said on T/V Friday night about beating the two private schools on consecutive weekends, why even play this game, it appears there is already a winner. Good luck to both teams and have a safe game, it is a shame that many fans won't get to tell their grandkids about this game because it was sold out.

I know this is not your post but I am referring to all those negative posts aimed at Male for having less than adequate facilities. I will bet the field is "safe" and secure.

Any high school facility that you go to has a hard time handling the larger crowds. If you wait until halftime to use the facilities or get concessions you will miss a lot of the 3rd quarter.

No it takes away from the big game feeling in the state championship game.

So there won't be any tickets for sale at the game? Criminy. What about e-Bay?

I was at the X game and didn't see anything wrong with the way it was "handled". We arrived a little after 7:00 (1/2 hour before kickoff) and bought tickets with no problem. The concession stand under the press box was not open because the band boosters who usually run it were out of town at a competition. I was surprised it wasn't open, but when I later found out why it made sense. The other concession areas were not stocked to deal with the crowd and ran out of food early--I suspect this will be addressed on Friday. There were some empty seats available at the east end of the home side stands.

Can anyone confirm that the gates were closed and people were turned away? Is there some sort of regulation that limits how many people can be admitted to an open venue such as this? I wouldn't think fire regulations would apply to an open-air stadium of aluminum and concrete construction.

I guess I don't see a huge problem--if you want to see the game, don't assume you can just saunter in at 7:28 and find your seat on the 50. Get there early. :thumb:

Another urban myth bites the dust.

I didn't say that in the X game they turned people away...but if the weather holds true, bet on this crowd being HUGE.....I know it was the state championship, but the last time these two played there were 20K there. This one will be full. And yes, the fire department can say no more, it has happened at Trinity before.

It is....but our stadium, regardless of weather would be suited for the game.[/

When you're talking playing surface I agree, but not when you consider the crowd. Last week at Male was miserable from a seating standpoint, and from parking. Luckily the funeral home next door was empty, and the cemetery was also available.

I might park at the funeral home but the cemetery is another matter. Was the Headless Horseman at the game? Too bad the game wasn't played on Halloween.

At least it was quiet in the cemetery.

I guarantee Redman and Stewart will not leave the grass as high as Trinity did before they got their new field surface. I remember very well a Male Trinity game at Trinity where the grass was about 5 inches high to slow down the speed of Male. It did not work. If your better Trinity then just go over there and kick their butt. If not, quit making excuses for why you may lose

I have a suggestion, maybe take the tickets away from all the kids who stand on the track and do not even watch the game. Resell the tickets to all the people who will not be allowed in the gate

I think that a great idea. Move the kids to the practice field or baseball field. or cemetary, 90% won't care.

So when is Male or Trinity selling the tickets? where do you go to buy them at Male? I know where at Trinity-are any of the 3000 left?
