This seems to be a pattern for UK. They let a kicker from our area get away from them a few years ago. I hope the folks in charge make a serious effort to make Merrick a Wildcat.

The kids were hard at work preparing for the upcoming season, nothing wrong with the tailgaters trying to get into mid season form with their latest recipes.:lol:

:thumb: I can assure you that this Ram Fan has nothing but the utmost respect for the Tomcats. How can one not respect a program with the tradition that Ashland brings to high school football? When the whistle blows and the ball is kicked to open the 08 season,you can throw out last years records. As for the "no big stars and team approach" you mentioned, that is what I refer to as a "Football Family". When you get a group of kids working together to achieve one goal then something special can happen.

They only have 4 Home games but the only long trip is to Nicholas Co.. All the other away games are basically at our back door. I don't like to compare teams as each one has it's own personality. On paper the Rams look very good and should contend for a district title. However, the game is played on the field and the Rams will have to earn everything they get. The only guarantee I can make is that their opponents will come into the game with the mindset that they are the best team and challenge the Rams in every phase of the game. Raceland must focus on themselves and not overlook any opponent.

Noise makers are for the fans. If you ask most players they will tell you they don't hear anything that goes on in the stands. As a player I was never intimidated but as a fan I am always intimidated when the opposing teams fans wear toga's, especially the guy who takes up tickets.:lol:
