Raceland 35 Morgan County 0 Scrimmage

Featured Replies

This is part of the EKC grid. There will be two games at Raceland: West Carter will play Fairview, and Raceland will play Morgan County. This will be in a game format with three regulation quarters of play.

Should be a great evening of football for those who are ready for the season to start.

Thoughts, speculations, or concerns?

August 22 at Raceland

West Carter vs Fairview 6:30pm

Raceland vs Morgan County 8:00pm

With just a week to go untill the season opener I hope that all of these teams can get through thid Grid-O-Rama injury free. I am sure that all will be working on different things as well gearing up for the 29th. I am anxious to see what Fairview shows, I have a feeling that they are going to be a very good football team this season.

Good luck to all teams, it is just a little more than a week untill high school footbal 2008.:flame:

GO RAMS!!!!

Ram....I was wondering if you knew if the school (Raceland) was going to be broadcasting this one from their web site / web cast? That imo would be a good tune up for them to get started as well.

I am not sure, but I will try to find out. It would be a good time to get into the football season for the webcast, if they were to broadcast both games.

Looking forward to making the trip on Friday.

Morgan is much improved from last years debacle. Still a ways to go and Raceland will be a heavy favorite I'm certain in the 3 quarter scrimmage. Morgan plays a lot of kids, at least they did in the Allen Central scrimmage.

2-3 starters are still doubtful for Friday's scrimmage as some kids will probably be held out of contact for another week as they prep for Rowan in the home opener.

Would like to see the West Carter and Fairview scrimmage. Both teams play Morgan Co. this season.

Looking forward to having you Nets. If you want to meet up during the Fairview game, let me know. I hope you and Morgan County have a good trip and a productive scrimmage.

I think this will be a good indication of how Raceland will play this year.....will they play with dominance or will they play to the level of their competition. If they play at the high level that they are capable, then great things can happen. They are loaded with talent and experience.

Welcome to BGP, sidelinedoc! Glad to have you.

I'm torn on whether to attend this scrimmage or the Ironton/Wheelersburg game. Ill have no other chance to see Raceland before Russell plays them.

First of all, welcome to BGP doc:thumb:, and for your post I agree with you. This Raceland team could be very good or they could be just an average team. Staying focused on each practice, each play, each opponet will be the key.

No one is going to lay down and forfiet just bc they are Raceland and are supposed to be good. Teams will circle Raceland on their schedule and the Rams will get everyones best shot. We will see how they (Raceland) react to it each week, that imo will be the key.

Oldrambler and sidelinedoc, you are both right. Raceland could have a very good team this season, but it depends on how the players react to the challenge. We have seen over the past several years, Raceland play to the level of the opponent, that has to stop. We have watched them beat an average team by one or two scores, then the next week play within one score of a very good team.

Raceland has to come out and play their game, no matter how good the opponent is supposed to be. They have to learn to not take teams lightly. Last season the lost two games that they should have won, then played LCA to a two point game in the playoffs. Raceland has to be consistent, they have to win the games they're supposed to, and win the games that are supposed to be close.

You can't loose games to teams that you are supposed to win and be a great team/program. If you want to be great, you have to do the little things that other teams don't, and you have to win. Greatness is based on winning and loosing, it seems harse, but that is how it is.

So, to the Raceland players: Talk is cheap, you have to prove it on the field and no where else.

Thanks for welcoming me in to the chat. Remember, I'll call 'em like I see 'em all year! Let's all hope that the NEW MEDICAL BAG is not used all year!!!!!
