  1. Only if the kid played a Varsity sport. If the kid never played a varsity sport it doesn't matter.
  2. I don't know lets look at it. QB advantage Russell Backfield advantage Russell Recievers advantage Russell Oline slight advantage Ashland Dline slight advantage Ashland Linebackers advantage Russell DB's advantage Russell Kickers advantage Russell Special team returns advantage Russell Seems like Ashland might have an advantage on the line, that could be argued though.
  3. Article about today's game. http://www.dailyindependent.com/localsports/local_story_261232500.html
  4. Woodford County Corbin Letcher Central Ryle Apollo
  5. Not that I am aware of. He didn't suffer an injury against WC. So if it has happened it has been during practice this week. I'd say this is mostly rumor, if anything he may just have some soreness from running all over everyone.
  6. If they played on the varsity level and changed schools without a physical change of address, they would have to sit out a year.
  7. I don't think whether they run the wishbone or not will matter in this game. Ashland is going to score a couple of TD's. (Eventhough I don't know how well a kid like Carter would do in the wishbone.) For Ashland to win they are going to have to stop Russell's offense, which is putting up big numbers from multiple players so far this year. Most of whom just get to play one half.
  8. MAJOR difference in the talent of Keenan Burton and Ryan Bonner. Bonner is going to go as a TE if he goes anywhere. Not a LB, DL, FB, or anything else. I'm sure if they moved him he would still get picked up by someone. It could hurt his chances with an even better school though.
  9. They might recognize talent, but may not offer him if they don't get to see him enough in action @ the position they want him for. Noah May is a prime example, was a FB @ Russell and getting quite a few looks and would have recieved scholarship offers. They moved him to QB and all recruiting went away.
  10. Is there a website for Fairview and/or Raceland football?
  11. That may or may not imrpove Ashland's chances of winning. It would also be a dirty move on the coaching staff when the kid is getting some serious looks form big schools to be a TE.
  12. What's it matter if the fans overlook a game and think they will win in a blowout. They are fans, not players so it has zero impact on the game.
  13. Is there any place I can check out Ashland's stats for this season? Would like to compare them to Russell.
  14. I was told the Johnson Central/Shawnee game has been canceled.
  15. Then it will be up to the people who vote for the DI. I find it funny that some of you still get riled up about this eventhough it happens every single year.
  16. Fairview has there chance to earn credit this week. If they are blown out of the water @ home then some of you all may have to eat a little crow. Aslo if Russell happens to win big, which is unlikely, would they deserve to jump JC?
  17. I agree it is disheartening to see so many empty seats. However, Louisville struggles to fill it for their games and they are a college team. So the kids shouldn't worry about it.
  18. Went to school @ WKU and there is a ton more to do in Louisville. Most of the weekends we would just goto Nashville.
  19. Louisville>BG as far as night life goes. Food, Booze, Entertainment, and gentlemen's clubs are all soooo much better in the Ville. BG shuts down early too, like 11. As far as game atmosphere BG may be better. Plus most of us hate having to see all that Cardinal crap everywhere. Lets face it, if UK had a turf field so that it wouldn't get destroyed by all the games it would be there. So I say we petition Lexington to build roughly a 15k-20k stadium with turf field for the games.
  20. Russell has everyone healthy that I am aware of. Can't say for Ashland, although I haven't heard anything. I heard there is supposed to be a large amount of scouts present at the game Friday to scout some of the bigger boys. Just rumor now, anyone heard the same?
  21. Eevrytime Ive seen someone from Raceland, oh lets say, since June. The first thing out of their mouth is we are going to "whoop" (most commonly used term) "you guys" this year. So I guess that was all just my imagination running wild. Not to mention I believe most of you Raceland fans have picked against Russell in every game except the West game. Not to mention how many times Ive seen almost all of you reference we almost lost to BC, by w/e reasoning you were using. I agree with you 100% sidelinedoc. I try explaining to them that I no longer play and have no involvement in the outcome of the games except for yelling from the stands at the refs.
  22. No this is quite different. Although it is still in question of whether or not it will come in to play this Friday.
  23. Personally I think Lawrence may be better than the bottom 3, maybe bottom 4 on that list. They did stick with Belfry and only lost by 1 TD.
