I've had a Toshiba Satellite for 5 or 6 years now and I'm looking to replace it. I use a laptop for web browsing and movie streaming. That's it. Not interested in an Apple. I know they make a superior product but I like new things. I'd rather replace a $500 dollar laptop every 3-5 years than have a $1200 apple for 10 plus years. Screen size and quality are important. Would like something around a 17 inch screen. Looking to spend $400 to $500. Any suggestions ?
  2. Anyone have any updates or a radio station for this one ? I think it started at 430.
  3. We do a really simple chili that the wife and I love. I'm sure it will offend some of the chili purists. 2 cans spicy chili beans 1 lb ground beef (sometimes we use finely chopped stew meat) 1 lb spicy Italian sausage 2-3 fresh jalapenos A couple packs of chili powder Tomato juice ( we like ours a little soupy ) 2 or 3 diced potatoes. I'm a huge fan of chili. I eat it year round. Never had a bowl I didn't like.
  4. Grilled some flank steak marinated in teriyaki with grilled onions and grilled corn on the cob last night. If anyone likes grilled onions , throw a few slices on the grill and top them with butter and beef bullion granules while they cook. You have to play around with the amount of beef bullion, not a little but not a lot either. They are amazing.
  5. Not exactly. I subscribe to a service offered by MOG. 9 bucks a month to "download" songs to my phone. When you cancel your service, all your music is gone. I'm pretty pleased with it so far. You can download single songs or entire albums. Pandora plays random songs that the app thinks you may like. MOG ( I believe the company was recently purchased by beats) allows you to choose the songs you listen to.
  6. Anyone use slow cooker liners ? Started using them a week or two ago, I won't cook without them now.
  7. This week I used a pork tenderloin, cubed, instead of stew meat with the above recipe. Delicious...
  8. I think we are going to have it sometime this week. Did you change anything ? Add or take any ingredients out ? I tinker with it each time we make it...
  9. We always put white or mexican rice in ours:thumb:
  10. I've got one that the wife and I love. You can change the amount depending on how many people you are serving. We use (makes 6 huge enchiladas): 1.5 lbs of stew meat 2 bell peppers 1 onion 2 cans spicy enchilada sauce 1 pack taco seasoning Slice onions and bell peppers. Throw all ingredients in the slow cooker and mix. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 5 or so. You'll also need burrito sized tortillas, potatoes, shredded cheese and anything else you like in an enchilada ( I but black olives, cilantro and jalapenos in mine). We chop our potatoes and fry them on low with a little oil. Not really even a fry, just enough to get them soft. Spoon some of the stew meat onto a tortilla, use a fork to break it up a little (makes it easier to roll). Add the peppers and onions, cheese, potatoes and whatever else you like. Roll up your enchilada and place it in a greased baking dish. When all your enchiladas are in the dish, top them with some of the sauce left in slow cooker and more cheese if you like. Bake them at 400 degrees until the cheese is melted. These are very, very good. I think the next time we make them I may add the potatoes and jalapenos to the slow cooker and cook them with everything else. I'll let you all know how they turn out !
  11. When I was in High School we practiced in shorts and helmets on Thursday. Kind of a walk through day to make sure everyone was on the same page. Contact practices on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. So this is just one less day of full pad practices ?
  12. I agree. You can't punish kids who had nothing to do with the violations. Punish the "adults" and leave the kids out of it.
  13. JC by a lot. Ashland has a solid team but they really have not been overly impressive this season. I'd like to see them pull off the upset but JC is simply much better this year.
  14. Dissapointing move by Matney. He's making it harder each year to root for JC. Things have changed...I can assure you that 10 years ago a roughing the kicker flag would have been thrown...

I've got an update coming soon and I'm torn between the new IPhone and another Galaxy. I owned IPhones for several years and recently went with the Samsung Note. I love the notes screen size, screen quality, camera and much of what the phone allows me to do, but the IPhone seemed like a more quality phone. I find myself resetting the note often.
  16. I was wondering about that also. Game was never really close. I believe Boyd led by 28 at some point during the 3rd quarter.
  17. Did you post the article two times because they are twins ?
  18. Should be a can't miss tournament for the Boyd County area. I'll be there. I'd imagine the gym will be more blue and white (UK) than red and white (Boyd County) for this one.
  19. Woke up this morning hung over and still smiling. Unbelievable game. I said it a week or so ago, Jorts is on a Hayes and Patterson level for me.
  20. Congrats to Rowan ! Bring one home for the 16th !
  21. Congrats to Ashland. A loss is a loss but it's better than the 30 to 40 point beatings we were taking last season.
  22. Congrats to Mr. Knipp! I love watching the big guy play.
  23. You can't hold a kids development back based on the fact that he has a nasty fastball. You can't make kids throw the ball easier. Terrible idea in my opinion. You can change the ball so it comes off the bat without as much pop (make the ball softer). You can also add some protective head gear for the pitcher. I have no problem with changing the equipment used to make the game safer. I have a huge problem with limiting kids and punishing kids with superior talent. If you were to make a limit on pitch speed, say 50 mph as you said, prepare yourself for 7 hour games with scores in the 30's to 50's. Making a high school kid pitch 50 mph would make hitting way too easy and makes it useless to have a stud pitcher. Just my opinion....
  24. :thumb: This was going to be my second suggestion. Changing the core of the ball changes the speed it comes off the bat dramatically. If you've ever played softball, you've seen it first hand. There is an incredible difference in hitting an ASA ball and an NSA ball.
