I’ve noticed the grocery stores around here have been 80 percent plus. The gas stations, not so much ...

As I’ve said before, I go back and forth on this virus monthly. I’ve struggled to form what I would consider an educated opinion. However, I’m all in on the masks at this point. I just want to do my part to help get back to some form of normalcy. If the masks work, that’s great, I’ve done my part. If they don’t help, then I’ve been slightly uncomfortable in public places for no reason and I’m ok with that. I’d wear a full hazmat suit while grocery shopping if it means kids get to go back to school and sports come back. The argument against the mask is baffling to me. It’s like saying you don’t need to cover your mouth when coughing because your hand doesn’t form a seal tight enough around your mouth to prevent 100 percent of germs from becoming airborne.

I agree. let me ask this though. A water line under your home bursts. Your refrigerator quits working.Your roof starts leaking. A window breaks. I could go on forever. These are legitimate emergencies for homeowners. Maybe the hardware store should have been delivery or pickup out front only ?

I agree, shutting down shopping malls was an absolute must and definitely helped. I think most of us just disagree on what we consider essential. I can’t think of one scenario where restaurants are essential. It would be tough, and we’d have to make sure the elderly had what they needed to survive, but restaurants are way down the list of essential businesses. Walmart stayed packed because people were bored. I’m fine with the grocery section remaining open, I just can’t think of a reason that toys or televisions should have been sold. Liquor stores ? I’m thrilled they stayed open. How are they essential ? To be honest, I’ve worn my mask much more since we started to open things back up.

Looking back, If restaurants were to remain open, they should have been delivery only maybe ? I was fine with hardware stores staying open. They should have decreased the operating hours and severely under staffed them. Make it such a pain to get in and out of the place that someone wouldn’t even consider going unless they had some sort of home repair crisis.

Don’t forget about Dentists and Chiropractors... The 16 year old in the drive through at Wendy’s is an essential employee though.

I wish we had a super like for this post. I can’t like this post enough. I absolutely could not agree more. And I’m a smoker... I can honestly say I’m still on the fence about the severity of this virus. That being said, I’ll wear a hazmat suit in public if it means we can have college football...

I just want to help at this point. I want to go to the beach at the end of September and I want sports to resume. I want children to go back to school. I want graduations and proms to happen next year.I want more than one persons be allowed to visit a loved one in the hospital. If wearing a mask helps in any way, I’m more than happy to wear one.

I love it... It doesn’t matter what you think about the effectiveness of the masks, this is an order. I’m good with it. I’ve been waiting for someone to grow a pair and tell us how we can move forward. If wearing a mask means we’ll have high school and college football, I’ll wear two!

I’ve gone back and forth on the severity of this virus for months. I’m admittedly as confused today as I was at the beginning. The reported death rate has been infuriating to me and keeps me from forming what I would consider a valid opinion. Honest question: If I cut off my arm and bled out at the hospital and it was later determined that I had the virus, what would my cause of death be listed as ?

This is what I envisioned when the shutdown talks started. I would have never imagined that so many employees were “essential”. We didn’t really shutdown. We quit going out to eat and to chiropractors.

Seems to be the theme for this virus. Hundreds of questions and only a handful of credible answers. This whole situation has been incredibly frustrating.

Agreed. To be perfectly honest, this virus has had basically zero impact on my life. Other than being able to get my haircut, nothing has changed for me. I could go on forever without missing a beat in shut down mode. I just feel like a lot of the same people protesting will be screaming about the rise of coronavirus cases in a few days.

I get it man. I really do. With 10s of thousands of people protesting in most major cities ( and rightfully so ) with little to no protection or social distancing, how are we supposed to react ? The Coronavirus scare is currently is over. We’ve moved on to other things. BGP should have shown you as much. This site once had updates daily on positive cases/deaths. How long has it been since those numbers have been posted ? Weeks ? Right or wrong, coronavirus is in the past. Our outrage has shifted...

Coronavirus is over. Economy is open again, NBA scheduled to restart, protesting in the streets... Coronavirus is an afterthought.

Absolutely the most frustrating part for me. We never really all got on the same page with this one. I’m as clueless today as I was the first time I heard about the virus. Too many experts disagreed and the info the public was getting was shady at best. I’m not sure if we slowed down the second coming of Ebola or we over reacted to the flu...

I don’t think I minded the Rose Hill transfers then and I don’t mind the Ashland transfers now. It’ll be comical though... You can’t only be for something when it benefits your team. It would be be like me, a UK fan claiming Coach K and Duke were ruining college basketball with all their one and dones ...

It’ll be very interesting hearing how Dicky Martin receives this new haul of athletes. I remember years ago when he basically crucified Rose Hill for OJ Mayo and his pals.

I agree for the most part. Drawing your weapon on a suspected thief makes about as much sense as performing a pit maneuver on a car that passes you speeding...

Last post for the night... If you know someone in the Chinese government or someone who supports the Chinese government, and they tell you 2+2=4, take that with a grain of salt. Check their math again and again and again. And when you believe that what they told you is true, take that equation to a math professor and have them verify it. And after they’ve verified it, you should still be skeptical... Anyone who believes anything, as a truth that comes from China is beyond help.

And this is why you should never, for any reason, trust China. Ever... Don’t do it, honestly, just assume that China is lying...every time and about everything...

I also agree with the posters above that many people may have died from the coronavirus that were classified as some other condition. It’s impossible to say someone died from something we didn’t know existed...

Do we have any data that shows us the percentage of people who died in the last year while needing a ventilator? Do we have any data on coronavirus deaths while on a ventilator in the last month ? That would tell us a lot. I believe this disease may have been with us for longer than we know but the spike in need for ventilators gives me some doubt in that theory.

That type of investment would mean this is going to last much longer than we would hope.
