This seems to be the way that all BC sports do now. Not sure why everyone wants to push kids above their limits. Lets the kids be kids and enjoy their younger years. He's a great athlete for his age. He's the coaches son and will make a fine QB in a couple years. I'm not sure that they had another option. Numbers at Boyd are way down and he may be the backup. I believe he was taking snaps with the JV team.

The district is weak so they should be alright. I assume they'll get crushed by the local power houses. Secondary looked terrible. I believe they'll get lit up through the air this season. Other than that, the defense looked decent. I left a little early but was told they won the scrimmage 20-14. They played a freshman QB for atleast 2 or 3 series that I know of. That didn't go well.

Anyone go ? I left with mixed feelings on Boyd.

I've been told that the Freshman and JV games were scheduled for the same day. I believe that Boyd's freshman team is essentially the JV team also and the coaches didn't want the players to play 2 games in the same day. So it does come down to low numbers. That's just what I heard.

Were the Boyd/Ashland Freshman and JV games scheduled to be played on the same day this season ?

You can't deny a kid the opportunity to play a sport because of his weight. I agree with you about the health concerns though.

Congrats to Holmes and good luck in the title game. The Elliot boys have nothing to hang their heads about. They made the 16th region proud.

I'm really pulling for Elliot to win the whole thing this year. I just have a hard time seeing them get by Holmes on such short rest. Great game Elliot. I'm on spring break right now and I'm setting my alarm to wake up and listen to the Elliot/Holmes game. This will be the first time I've been up before noon in the last week:lol:

I'd love to see him go for 40 or so. Don't care if he ends the game with 20 as long as EC wins though :thumb:
