IMO the jury is still out. A win against a bad Ohio team in Milford or a down 2A team are not necessarily big wins in my opinion. Let's see them play well against a bigger team before anointing them.

Covington Catholic had a record enrollment last year and St. X in Cincinnati has a record this year. It's not the economy. NCC has had some exceptional talent the past few years but it has moved on. Their talent this year has come back down to earth. They will still win their share of 2A games but they are going to have a hard time with some of the bigger schools.

Well Old Guy I believe I started my comment by recognizing that CCH was a good team. I would still expect a school the size of Boone to be able to be more competitive. Just to be clear, I didn't say win the game, just to be more competitive. And yes, Dixie's Varsity is bad...

SK's schedule this year is weak. One game against Scott County is all that stands out. Big deal!

Over the years one thing that NCC has shown is that they know how to win. This is something the Camels have yet to show a tendancy to do. That being said, I will take NCC to win but not by much due to the injuries.

I will give Ryle credit, even in a "down year" they play an incredibly tough schedule unlike some other large schools in NKY.

How does Campbell not put a single point on the board? I understand Cov Cath is a very good team but this was a total beat down. Certainly not the way the Camels wanted to start the season.

Campbell County has a freshman named Cameron Edwards that will be in the varsity pitching rotation. Haven't seen him pitch but heard he is pretty good.

While I think the NCC fans were delighted to get the win, even they were very frustrated in the first half with the coaches decision to slow the game down and play into the style that Brossart loves.

Makes is tough. If NCC didn't have pangallo and McDonald playing up their freshman team would be very very good.

How is the WV JV team? There was a lot of talk in local AAU circuits over the past 4-5 years about how great of a program Walton was building.
