IMO the jury is still out. A win against a bad Ohio team in Milford or a down 2A team are not necessarily big wins in my opinion. Let's see them play well against a bigger team before anointing them.

If you forced me to choose I'd give SK a SLIGHT edge as of today and I'm still not counting out Ryle.

SK has a potent running game and a good QB. Not sure how they will handle Durham of CC defensively though.

 

Ryle didnt look as bad against Colerain as I thought to be honest.

Still way too early to tell. I am beginning to like SK's chances though. SK has complete platoons on both sides of the ball and is really the only team in this district committed to a down field passing game that gives them balanced offense. Boone probably has the best talent, but in my view, has under-performed to date and is the easiest to defend. Boone with an effective passing game would be deadly. Ryle is similar to Boone, but with less talent. Dixie is in rebuilding mode. In all fairness, I do not know Campbell that well.

 

SK's big short coming is the absence of an electric skill player that can get you big plays and easy scores.

Campbell County has to be the favorite. They won the district last season when Ryle, Dixie and Boone were all better teams than they are this year. Simon Kenton is 3-0 against a schedule that is still trying to get it's way out of a wet paper bag and returns largely the same team that struggled to get first downs against the Camels last season.

Boyle County is 1-2 plus that's a rivalry game that and we all know crazy things can happen. You may be right about the Camels Offense but as I recall SK couldn't pass or run in last years match up. Again if I remember correctly they couldn't even make 1st downs. No exceptional skill players, an ok QB and one good MLB isn't going to win the district.

Should we give CC so much credit already? They beat Milford and NCC. They were destroyed by CovCath. Milford was embarassed by Edgewood, OH. NCC is a 2A school and was beaten by McNick (Cincy). A class 6A team should handily beat a 2A school.

Agreed 6A schools shouldn't be barely scrapping by 2A schools 12-7 and a 1-A school 21-17.
