The addition of a 6'8" transfer who is potentially the best player in NKY certainly helped his case. I will say though that he seems to have done a great job in managing the team with the distractions that certainly came with the loss of Jalen Avery. I also think that Brannen from NC does a great job. On several occasions this year when his team was getting beat handily in the first half, he made the appropriate adjustments to get them back in the game.

Still early in the season so some things could change, but at this point I think the only teams capable of actually putting enough games together to win the 9th are Boone, CCH, Dixie, and NCC. I would give the edge to Dixie but it's pretty even. I would add HC into the mix as a solid contender if they can get past the distractions that are currently being rumored. Any of the other teams may win on a given night but I don't think they can string enough games together to cut down the nets. Just my opinion.

Referring to how hot the gym is as mentioned earlier in the thread.

If this comment was made it's pretty sad. HC can't afford to put fans in the gym. I can't imagine that they are going to be paying players to win ball games.

Not because they were up 16 but because they had a nice lead and as mentioned by others, NCC couldn't buy a basket in a 1/2 court setting. They could however break the press and that is what got them back in the game.

Wonder if HC will be hanging their state championship banner during halftime.

I heard he had a very good debut. According to the box score he was their leading scorer with just over 20 points. Nice night against the defending regional champs.

Let's remember PC was the regional runner up last year in a pretty good 10th region. Give them a little credit.

Please allow me to back track on one thing I said in my prior post. I do recognize that the kids for every team out there no doubt work very hard. It was unfair of me to say that.

To say they would win 7 of 10 times is a pretty bold stretch considering NCC doubled up the score against you. Clearly it was all a gift and wasn't deserved. That mentality is why NCC kicks the Camels tail almost every year at every level. Some teams work hard while others think they are going to cruise.

While I will readily admit I don't know what the answer is, I don't think anyone can claim there isn't some kind of problem for a school that big to have decade long droughts. One thing I did notice is that their 7th grade team played the NCC team this weekend. The CCMS team had close to 50 kids, many of which I am sure didn't play at all or extremely limited time. Maybe in the 5th quarter but even then the numbers were so large that they couldn't have played much. Many of these kids I am sure are discouraged from the lack of opportunity. I know from the rumblings I have heard in the stands their parents certainly are. It may be a good idea to give some of these kids a chance to get to play and get reps to allow them to continue in the youth league until they are freshman. Many of them I am sure haven't hit puberty yet but will ultimately get bigger, faster, and stronger and catch some of the kids ahead of them. Problem is that when they do, they may be wearing another uniform because they feel alienated by the Camels.

I am not sure that anyone bashed him but as for morale busting, how about a terribly lopsided loss to Cov Cath, a blown lead late to Milford, and then a goose egg against a sub-par Cooper team. Notice I am not saying they should have won any of those games. Campbell County is one of, if not the largest school in NKY and to be consistently this outmanned, something systemically has got to be wrong. Quite honestly, this isn't exclusively a football problem historically.

How does Campbell County get shut out in this one? Embarrassing

There is no reason why a school the size of Dixie cannot be succesful in more than one sport. That's crazy. Look at the year New Cath had last year. They are at best 1/2 the size of Dixie but probably closer to 1/3 the size.

Never said he wouldn't play D-1 and never said that Auburn would yank their offer. I make my comment based on the fact that Auburn already has one of the highest rated freshman QB's in the country on their team waiting his turn in front of Pike. I am also not convinced the whole Cam Newton thing is over. I think when push comes to shove he may decide to land elsewhere like many verbal committments in football do.

Will be shocked if he winds up signing with Auburn.
