Mustang Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Mustangs improve to 2-0 with 56-12 win over Caverna on Saturday night at Scott High School. Caverna is a Class 1-A program out of Horse Cave, Kentucky. Brossart defeated the Colonels 23-22 a year ago on the road. This is the second of our two year contract. They came in 0-2 with losses to Eminence and Adair County. Brossart's maturity and confidence at the skill positions stood out in this one. Jesse Orth (2), Jacob Dennis (2), Spencer Brown, Jacob Elbert, Max Steirs, and Sean Tieman all scored touchdowns for the Mustangs. Brossart will take on Dayton on Friday night at 7pm at Scott High School, which is serving this year as the "home of the Mustangs."

We are not declaring ourselves to be a mighty football machine, merely reporting on the game played last night, which shows that after five years of varsity football we have made progress as a program and are not cellar-dwellers in the grand scheme of football played in the Commonwealth, and perhaps a little further along than is the norm for a school/program our age. We will play them as they come up on the schedule and will confront the 2A schedule/challenge when it arrives, doing our best to represent ourselves to the best of our ability.

Also, I didn't realize that all the 7-8 other CC schools didn't play softball until recently?? Actually I think all the CC area schools started playing fast pitch about the same time; but that's for another thread. Congrats to the Mustangs and keep playing hard!!
