Looking at their schedule if they don't win a game over the next 2 they play, I think they have a very good chance at going winless this year. I guess if I were CC's coach I would start my best players but work in more minutes to my back ups.

If you mean start playing underclassmen over seniors, it's way too early to look at anything that drastic. Still have to put the players that give you the best chance to win on the field wherever you need them. I agree, the Camels are obviously in rebuilding mode, but they haven't even started district play yet. So at this point you march forward and try to get a win in the next couple weeks.

I don't think guru was advocating getting rid of Lickert, but rather was wondering do you rebuild this season with older players or with younger players. I agree with a previous poster who suggested mixing in more minutes for the younger guys as the season goes along.

I agree Coach Lickert needs time (three or four years) to get things rolling...

 

With that in mind, what would you do if you were Coach L? Playing for the future would probably be better for the program at this point.

I wasn't talking about getting rid of Lickert. I meant that they should settle in and see what he has planned. It's not like they're dealing with a history of championship play out there. It's been more of a history of one step up, 1.5 back.

As far as I knew, that's what had already been established this year, and it was causing a fair amount of controversy. He's playing the kids that show some fire and talent over some upperclassmen who might have lost a step. Campbell County has a history of sticking with upperclassmen, no matter the consequences, that dates back to the Bob Miller years.

Campbell County might just be too stuck in their ruts to ever come out of the 1900's. This isn't a young program by any stretch, but try to find any history online. It doesn't exist, probably because it would just be disheartening.

No! Brossart kids are Brossart kids. Brossart loses kids to Campbell County, not vise versa.

 

I hardly doubt that at the present Campbell County is losing sleep coveting the football talent presently at Brossart. It is highly likely that 80% of our football players would still be at Brossart because of other advantages/considerations even if we didn't offer football.

 

Brossart also loses Brossart kids to NCC. They obviously have a superior football product at the moment, and the KHSAA didn't do us any favors by moving us into the same class with them. Had we remained in Class 1A, where we legitimately belong, we would have carved out a nice niche, probably going to the playoffs on an annual basis and been a nice option for players from the Alexadria community to be a part of a winning program, and getting some playoff experience.

It sounds like CC has it rougher than the other county teams in NKY. They haven't been a contender since '94, that's a long time for a county so rich in talent. Where do all the Red Devils end up? Kenton County has the most schools in NKY by far, why can't Campbell seem to get things going?
