What do you do if you are Campbell County?

Featured Replies

If I heard correctly, Campbell Co is starting to go to a 2 platoon system. Sounds like Steve finally has the numbers to implement a system that he truly believes wins football games. Now, this will take a couple of years to refine but once he gets his system in place......then look out!!! Campbell won't find a better option to be their football coach. I suggest the players and parents become a little more patient.....

No coach in the world is going to come in and take this program from the basement to the penthouse in one year. If those were the expectations of some of the parents, come back to reality and quit living on Fantasy Island.

A new coach is going to need a few years before you start getting results. As bad of shape as it sounds like this program and the support has been, you'd think they'd have a little patience.

Can you come and sit in the stands and let the parents know this? ha

People want to see results now which is not possible when you are trying to replace 16 - 18 starters from last year's team and trying to implement a new offense and defense.

The mentality at Campbell County from the parents is the seniors get to play because they have put the work in over the years. I disagree with this, if you have sophomores and juniors which are better then they deserve to play. There is also a mentality of, Campbell County is losing so why not play the seniors they can't do any worst? I disagree, you play your best 11 players on both sides of the ball and get those kids the experience. The first thing that needs to change at Campbell County is everyone deserves to play mentality because they put their time in this is just not in football but in ALL sports.

I am not conncted in any way and know nothing about Cambell Co.. From reading some of the comments (who made them doesn't matter bc I don't know anyone)iin this and your game thread I believe that some fans, parents,etc.. need to get behind their coach and kids. Critisizing a program and/or coach imo does nothing good and it can separate players on a team leading to hurting the team that you support.

Again, I don't have a dog in th fight and I apologize if I am speaking out of place. Nothing personal against anyone, just a general observation.

This is truly a rebuilding year. I do sympathize with the upperclassmen and their parents but if you are not the best at your postion stand aside. Not playing the best player is only going to cause those kids to loose interest in this program and concentrate on other activities.

I believe everyone knew that this year would go no where. Get the better younger players some time and experience.

If the younger players are truly the better players, then they should play. If it is not clear which is better, the more experienced player should play. In a 6A program, you should not expect to play as a sophomore. Only the top shelf "stud" player should be playing as a sophomore IMO.

Lickert's first year at Holmes 4-6. Year two at Holmes 3-8. Year 3 Holmes was 9-3 and year 4 they were 8-3. That tells me the fans need to give him 3 or 4 years, especially at a 6A school where IMO it is harder to turn things around.

Who was on the scedule during thos winning and losing years. As a supporter of the real CC, you could see when brossart was here, we were doomed, early. Many in the other CC feel the same now.

Sorry, but I do not understand your comment. Who are the real Campbell County supporters, and who are the other Campbell County supporters. What can you see when Brossart was where. Not trying to be a smarty pants what so ever. I just don't understand what your saying. Please explain, thanks.

Are you talking about CovCath?

I'd guess by the just past closing time post he may not remember either.

CovCath is CCH.. Come on get with the program.. lol

Focus on the little things. It will get better if everyone stays together and finds the little things to stay positive about. Instead of focusing on wins and losses, focus on getting better

CovCath is CCH.. Come on get with the program.. lol

You would think he would know, being a graduate and all. Maybe an ulterior motive there?

A couple of things to consider. The current senior class had only one loss as freshman and that was to Highlands in a very close game. Many in this current senior class started playing varisty football as freshman and sophomores. Many in the current senior class have played both sides of the ball up until this year. There are a few seniors who are getting very little if any playtime. So I don't believe they are losing because Coach is only playing seniors. I believe not using some of the seniors to their maximum position because of the '2 platoon' program is a contributing factor. I'm all for the one position, one side of the ball strategy after seeing the dog I have in the fight so exhausted after playing both sides of the ball all night his junior year. But how do the coaches keep those seniors motivated this year? They know, and rightly so, that Coach L can't be held too responsible for the outcome this year and even next. They are starting to believe their senior year is being sacrificed for the good of the program's future. While from a tactical standpoint it makes sense, from a 17 year-old's perspective who's given his all every year it's very discouraging.

I'm aware:thumb:.

I was just wondering if this person was talking about Covington Catholic, as he seemed to have two different "CC's" in mind. That and the comment about Brossart got me wondering if he was talking about the guy or the school. I was just curious.
