Seems like the new recruit (Campbell) did the trick for HC but the FG% and FT% on their home floor sure isn't something you want to see game after game!

The kid just started going to school and playing for HC in the past couple of weeks or so, came from Cincinnati. With his height I am sure he is helping out HC big time!

The Campbell kid was on the bench for a lot of the 2nd half..I couldn't figure it out.. I am pretty sure he only had 3 fouls when they sat him..Why did HC press the whole game when they were up 16 in the 2nd half?? I know that is their style but come on..The Campbell kid is a stud. I bet he has a 6'10-6'11 wing span..NewCath definately does not quit..McDonald played a nice game tonight. He is going to be a good one..

Rough shooting night from the beyond the arc for NCC. If if take away Miller's 3 for 3 they were 0-15.

Was there for all 3 games, was a very entertaining evening of hoops action. The baby Breds come up with the only win, however jv & var made nice come backs. They have to do a better job handling the ball and hitting for a better %. Drew McDonald might be playing his way into a starting position for the Breds, another big night for the talented freshman. Jake Schulte has to get that "killer" attitude that he had last season, the kid is too good not to be on the floor more than he was tonight. Holy Cross has big men on all 3 teams, and the Campbell kid looked mighty good this evening. Got to go know and take a shower, felt like I was in a sauna all night, I was sweating like no man should.

Looks like Hightchew struggled tonight but McDonald almost gets a double double.

Neither team played well.

 

HC's poor decision-making when it comes to shot selection will cost them at some point. Just terrible especially in the 2nd quarter.

 

Like Raiderbird I couldn't figure out why HC's staff left 3 starters on the bench so long in the 3rd while NC was cutting into an 11 point lead. I'm pretty sure Campbell only had 3 fouls.

 

Campbell is a difference-maker on both ends. Needs more touches inside.

 

Hightchew hurt NC with inability or lack of desire to play under control.

 

I didn't realize McDonald had 17. Even if he hadn't scored that many I was going to say he played really well. He helped neutralize Campbell a bit. Kid is thick. Nice jump hook. Battles hard. When he learns how to lift weights and get some definition he's going to be a beast to deal with. Love his game.

HC defense holding Hightchew and Bueter to 13 combined points was the big difference IMO. Hard fought lower scoring game then many, including myself, predicted. Good to see this Indians team be able to play a game in the 50s and still win. NCC has to be the best 0-2 team in the region. They will be fine as the season goers along.
