I heard that Campbell County had approximately 70 kids of which 15 or so were in middle school.

Now that tryouts have cranked up at most schools, I would be curious to know how many kids are trying out at the different schools. Are any schools having to bring up middle school kids to round out JV or Freshman squads?

With all of this talent on the bench it makes you wonder why they are barely .500 in their region.

The way this email was written and the and the fact that they had the emails of all the parents makes me believe it was an adult but that is just my opinion. As far as how they handled it, maybe it's entirely possible that they addressed it with the coach or the administration and it fell on deaf ears. As for those that are piling on RB, no doubt he is stirring the pot but if the shoe was on the opposite foot, the entire city of Park Hills would be doing the same thing if this were Highlands and Dale Mueller we were talking about. Maybe one day when they lose more than one game during a season you will get your shot.

Maybe the presumptive softening of the schedule is the result of some schools in NKY being afraid to man up and schedule the birds.

Don't the other 6A schools have more than one middle school that ultimately feed up to the high school? That could explain a lot when they start merging teams together.

Well if that is the case, make sure you schedule Highlands next so you can annoint yourselves champions of NKY!

One of the reasons CC isn't getting much love is their unmitigated ability of screwing up a good thing in the past. Not many people are going to give them credit until they actually come out and beat someone. The difference between an underdog playing well and losing and a favorite playing poorly and winning is often times the better team knows how to win and somewhere in the back of their mind expects to win each game no matter what (i.e. coaching, not just at the varsity level but the way they have been coached in the years past) Coach Styer may well be on his way to developing a good program but history isn't on his side when it comes to job security.

How much of the kool aid have you consumed? Beating a pretty decent 2A NCC is a long way from theatening bluegrass royalty from the Ville. Especially given that you still can't beat the best team in NKY yet. Ryle is on the right track no doubt but this won't be their year.

Let's be fair here. Look at PC's record and tell me honestly that you would rather be at Deming or Bracken instead. And in reality, they have a much better record over the past 10 years than Campbell. I agree that Campbell should be a much better job, but nobody has been able to get it done.

According to the KBA website there are 16 teams and only one division.

It was their 5 game of the day. They had to play all of their pool games on the same day as the bracket. I would guess they were exhausted.

Camels stay home and don't make it out of their district yet again. Scott makes it a trifecta for the year.

It won't be a school night for the Sharp kids. They won't be back until next week.

I don't disagree but feel the need to point out that CC 6th beat the Mason County team in the Camel Classic.

I completely agree with the notion that championships are not won in grades 11 and 12. In my opinion they are won with the work that is done in grades 4-6. Plant good seeds and nuture them and you will have a great product when it's time to harvest. From my limited understanding, CC has a recreational program that doesn't focus much on the fundamentals and just lets kids play. Many of the Catholic schools are playing each other at early ages and really teaching the kids how to play the right way.

Better check your source on that. I believe you may be incorrect. In Ohio that is definitely a rule, in KY I don't believe it kicks in until 9th grade.

I am taking a gamble here that St. Peter isn't going to ding someone for appealing a rule so that someone's son or daughter can play an extracurricular activity.

If size of the school doesn't statistically matter as you infer, why do we care about whether a school is a 6A school or a 1A school? I agree that the talent pool is the main thing but when it comes right down to it, doesn't a larger school have a larger population to draw from and to develop?

Campbell County doesn't even own their own district, let alone the 10th. Kind of sad for a school their size.

I don't have a dog in the fight but I cannot for the life of me figure out why Campbell County isn't a better program. It's been 8 years since they have won their district and during that time period have only been runner up a couple of times. It just seems to me that a school of that size with the number of kids they have should be more competitive on a regular basis. I am not saying make it to state every year but to at least provide some competition in the district on a regular basis would be a reasonable expectation in my opinion.
