Which school has the toughest fans to please? Maybe the school has extremely high expectations. Maybe the school has fans that care too much, if there is such a thing. Or maybe the school seems to have more than its share of fans that care more about their own little Johnny than what a team needs to win. This thread is totally subjective so I am sure the opinions will run the gamut, and we will probably see about 10 or more schools listed as having whining fans. :lol:

 

For me, if I were a coach, the jobs that I know I would get complaints from fans on unless I was undefeated would be Cov Cath and Boone County. Both schools have high expectations and both schools love to complain about their coach.

I'm not sure I agree with your inclusion of Cov. Cath. In the 3 major sports (Baseball, Football and Basketball) since 1976 there has been one head coach fired. That is 105 coaching years. Krumps has been there since 1976, Coach Ray was there for 30 years, George Schneider retired as well as Coach Tieman. Coach Listerman has been the head coach for 10 years. Rodenberg left on his own. After retiring as head coach, Coach Ray returned to Cov. Cath. as an assistant coach and is expected to do so again next year. After retiring as head coach, Coach Tieman returned as an assistant coach and retired just last year. After retiring as head coach, Coach Schneider remained a member of the Cov. Cath faculty for years (he was assistant principal when I attended CCH) and has a permanent spot one row behind Mr. Kaelin (who has also been at Cov. Cath. for more than 35 years) at the Cov. Cath. scorer's table. Coach Listerman has been coaching basketball (assistant and head coach) at Cov. Cath. since the 1970's.

I know about the longevity of the coaches. I also know what I hear and read year after year. Just check out any CCH basketball game thread from the past few weeks. Then go back and look up threads from last year and the year before. That is what prompted me to start this thread. It seems there are constantly complaints about Listerman. Although I haven't heard as much this year, I would say the same is true for McQueary at Boone County. The man has a great record at Boone County and yet the fans are very quick to jump all over him at the first opportunity.

Are Boone fans that tough? I wouldn't have guessed that.

I think Listerman spent the mid to late 70's at Highlands, mid 80's at Harrison County and then came to CCH in the late 80's.

Judging from the emails flying around today, some of the natives sure do seem restless now.

CCH Website has a pretty good bio of each coach. Coach Sorrell has to be one of the longest tenured freshman coaches in the state.

Whitley County fans are not only impossible to please in BB they are even more unrealistic!! Their current coach has been there longer than the last three combined and has has a winning record for three years running, yet becuase parents are too involved and parents of kids who have left the team for various reasons stay involved only to undermine the program. Just crazy.

Well judging by the Thread " Whats wrong with Highlands Basketball " with 173 posts . I would say that its the Bluebird fans at least in NKy .
