Coach Wallace about Rob Reynolds...absolute shot in the dark!

Stepphon Pettigrew-Updates-drops UK from his list
^But since the 'Cats let him get away he will blossom into a 4-year college star. J/K:D

When a KY teams plays an out of state team...
Of course you know I was kidding, but that stems from a few of my NKY friends in college constantly telling people they were from Cincinnati as opposed to Covington, Newport, Florence, etc. A little fun at their expense since I don't think any of them are on here.

When a KY teams plays an out of state team...
I 2nd that, and would also like to add that I am partial to every KY born player at the college and pro levels. Example, I know there are many on here who know Brian Brohm fairly well, and even though I don't it pleases me to see a Kentuckian accomplish the things he has accomplished. The same goes for Shaun Alexander, unless he thinks NKY is part of Cincinnati.

Dalton Cissell video
I watch plenty of videos on Rivals.com and I understand what you are saying. Perhaps the kids you are seeing on there are faster than Cissell, but the video probably doesn't do them any justice either. One more thing...lots of highlight films are "tweaked" a little, too. Meaning that the speed of the reel is adjusted to make the person look faster than they really are.

Dalton Cissell video
Video doesn't do any kid justice in the speed department. Take it for what its worth.

Billy G watches Pettigrew and Walls today
I saw him play a couple of times that year and each time Terrez Dewalt was the best player on the floor. LMB...I agree with you on what you was saying.

Dalton Cissell video
I'm sure his coach probably already knows drills on how to improve stride, but PM me if you'd like to know any.

Billy G watches Pettigrew and Walls today
I still think that Carrier wasn't even close to being the best high school player on his team at BG, yet somehow he received a scholarship from UK. Anyway, I agree that being Mr. basketball doesn't mean you deserve a scholarship. But I think Mr. Pettigrew might have a better stroke than people give him credit for. At the all-star game he, Ty Profitt, Mike Williams, and A.J. Sterwart recently attended, along with other highly touted stars, it was Pettigrew who won the 3-Point Shooting competition.:sssh:

Dalton Cissell video
He really needs to work on his stride...he has enough leg-length that his stride could be much longer which would greatly improve his overall speed. He looks to be a nice back, too.

Greatest High School Game Ever
The best I've seen personally was probably the 2004 Belfry vs Prestonsburg game that BHS won 20-14 in OT. But the 2002 Trinity vs Male shootout takes the cake, especially if offense is what you pay to see.

Coach Lutz back at Ironton
This is good news for the folks at Ironton and bad news for the opposition. Good to see Coach Lutz back where he wants to be.:thumb:

2007 Pikeville
That's what I was meaning to say, the hardest 1A schedule in the state. I'm sure there are some bigger schools that have tougher schedules, like Butler, but I doubt a 1A team could top that.
-
2007 Pikeville
I applaud the non-district schedule...I doubt there is a harder one in the state.:thumb:

Lexington: The nicest city in the world.
It's because most of the people who live there are originally from EKY. Just kidding...Lexington is a friendly place in my opinion, too.

Ballard 80 Owensboro 60
Ballard must be pretty darn athletic in order to force that many TOs.
-
2007 Pikeville
There might not be an easier road in the state than the one they have to travel. Pikeville really benefitted from the six class system. Good for them. Good luck to the panthers.

JBS, Elliott Co. and Shelby Valley?
I don't think either are over 5'10. But last year one was in 8th grade, the other a freshman. They still have plenty of time to grow.
-
Seniors who were held back
Unless all five of Elliot County's players are holdbacks, then they do not have more holdbacks than Shelby Valley has. I know that 4 and possibly 5 of Shelby Valley's kids are holdbacks, and I say kudos to their parents for giving them a better chance to succeed in the classroom and in sports.

JBS, Elliott Co. and Shelby Valley?
Elisha Justice - Freshman PG: He will not get rattled, good spot-up shooter, and as good a ball-handler as you'll see in this tournament. Logan Bryant - Sophomore SG: Up-tempo player that is super-quick, streaky shooter. Ashley Hatfield - Freshman Forward: Great athlete, shoots well, and runs the floor good. He needs to avoid foul trouble if Shelby Valley has a chance to win. Taylor Newsome - Freshman F/C: Physical and fundamentally sound. Can hit the 15 footer consistently and rebounds very well. Jacob Bryant - Junior Forward: Probably Valley's most consistent scorer. Nice range up to 15 feet and has deceptive speed when going to the basket. Valley's guards are small, but they handle the ball really well. Hatfield and Jacob Bryant have to stay out of foul trouble, and as a team Valley needs to control the pace of the game to win in Rupp.

Seniors who were held back
That's why parents are supposed to make important decisions. Who leaves it up to their kids to make decisions that could affect the rest of their lives?

Time to class basketball?
I'm a traditionalists on a lot of things, but KY should have went to a class basketball system a long time ago. The Sweet 16 isn't what makes KY High School basketball. The kids are what makes KY high school basketball.

Shelby Valley 53 - Belfry 41
Final Shelby Valley heads to the finals of the 15th Region for the third straight year. They will play the winnner of Pikeville/Allen Central.
-
Shelby Valley 45 Betsy Layne 43
They're really young and you never know how the pressure is going to effect them. Belfry is my pick, too.
