Lexington: The nicest city in the world.

Featured Replies

I'm from Northern Kentucky and have been attending the Sweet 16 every year since 1999. Each and every year it amazes me even more how nice of a town Lexington is. At first I thought, "Am I just imagining things or have I found the city with the nicest people in the world"?. This last trip I spoke to a 25 year old guy who moved there from Connecticut when he was 16. At first he thought that he'd go crazy with home sickness. Now he says that he would never leave. Another fellow I spoke to was from Southern Illinois and he also couldn't get over what a wonderful town Lexington was. It's been creeping into my system for some time now that I'm starting to consider moving there some day, but first I'd have to leave my big city rudeness at the doorstep. What do you all think? Is it just me or does anyone else think that Lexington is the friendliest place you've ever been to???

I just moved to Orlando from Lexington. I miss it and it has been a great place to live. Its just big enough to give you big city feel but a small town atmosphere. High school sports are big in this city and that is why I liked it so much.

It's because most of the people who live there are originally from EKY.:D

Just kidding...Lexington is a friendly place in my opinion, too.

I don't know if it's just my general against-the-grain weirdness, but this Louisville fan has always loved the area around Lexington. Enough to move there recently!

With all of your recent moves you should be a well-versed expert on what people are nice and who isn't!:D

I have been in Lexington for about 5 years and I absolutely love it. I am disappointed in having to move for my new job, but I wont be far away in Bardstown so I will be back plenty.

I am sorry, but I will not go to Bardstown. Weve always lived in the same area, but I cant follow you down there! :D

You know, I've lived and worked pretty much all over this state other than far Western Kentucky — and I know lots of people from out that way and have visited on many occasions — and I do feel I've got a pretty good handle on the different personalities of folks in the various regions.

The biggest reason I go to school here is because of the atmosphere and the people. I went to Florida for spring break and was disguisted at how mean, unhappy, and snooty natives are down there. There is just something about Lexington that other places can't match...

I like Lexington, but the traffic sucks!

Exactly. I miss the Lexington of the early 1980s.

Come to think of it, I miss just about everything from the early 1980s.
