I saw on the news where Coach Gillispie spent the afternoon in e-town today to watch Pettigrew. Tonight he was in Scott Co.'s gym watching Walls from 8-10 during their open gym.

 

No scholarships were offered to either player at this time, but you've got to give Billy G credit for giving them both a fair, personal assessment.

Yesterday he spent an hour and half in Mason Co. watching Darius Miller.

 

My opinion is they won't get Miller. But at least he's trying.

 

As for Matt Walls. I think he could be a contributing walk-on. If he's waiting for a scholarship, he probably won't get one. But don't get me wrong, he's better than Carrier, Stockton, LeMaster, etc. , etc. ever were.

 

As for Pettigrew, his best chance to play is to go away. I think Xavier is an good fit. But limited playing time for him there. At UK he'd be one of the last players off the bench. He'd be a good fit for Miami OH or EKU or Western KY.

I bet he sets his sights on Miller and pulls it off. I don't think he's going to let in-state talent like that go elsewhere. Miller is special.

It's refreshing to know that UK now has a staff that is going to get out and WORK. Gillispie and Cox have seen more high school players in KY in a week than the former staff did in the past 5 years. I'm a believer.

I think you will be correct when it's all said and done, he will fight hard for that kid. Under the past regime I see him leaving the state but it will be one heck of a fight for out of state schools to get Miller.

I hope you guys are right. But lets remember the biggest recruiter for Miller in nation right now is Chris Lofton.

Oh no, NEERFAN, that Escalade is mandatory. Coach Rupp always drove a big Cadillac Fleetwood, usually black, and it was an important part of both the legend and the mystique. No Kentucky basketball coach should ever drive an economy vehicle. And, in reality, I doubt that he is paying for the gasoline.

 

It is good to see him going around the Commonwealth to see the "local" boys. It sends a positive message that is important to those who see him as an "outsider". If he keeps it up, he will get his Kentucky Colonel certificate soon.

Good to see Billy G getting around the state. He looked at 2 great players yesterday. I believe both these guys will be pleasent suprises in college.

That is what I figured as well. What offers for scholly's does Walls have again.

I would hate for BCG to offer Pettigrew before he gets any other commitments. I dont think we are to that point yet that we have to offer him.

He will get Miller. I have faith in him right now.
