Walton is dealing with several injuries and some disciplinary actions. Bellevue will be a tall order.

The chatter seems to be focused on the vast geographical area St. X draws from, the amount of boys per class and the number of boys on the team. It is 11 vs. 11 at all times this Friday. The Birds need to focus on the immediate task at hand, and if they do, I like their chances.

If the Birds tackle well and don't turn it over they have a chance. I think we will see a few different wrinkles on offense. Highlands has a nice supporting cast to the stars. I think after this game a lot of people will be saying Bardo reminds them of the Gator's QB. Play hard and Go Birds! Mr. Kool-Aid has been on my street, and I need a drink.

Boone could not stop Highlands in the first half with all the number 1's in. The offense is potent as long as they hold on to the ball, they held on to the ball tonight. Come out next week, hold on to the ball, wrap up on defese and see what happens.

Birds by 4 touchdowns. Work on the fundamentals this week. Work on holding on to the football and form tackling this week. Concentrate on executing your schemes. Birds will roll.

Stick, wrap and hold on to the ball for dear life. If this talented bunch can do these things they can be very good. It is eleven vs. eleven at all times on the field.

Birds offense looked good, lots of weapons. The defense needs to tackle better, and hopefully will learn a bit from this game. Beechwood is a well coached good football team. They will be in mix in Class A again this year.

Beechwood has to be exceptional to compete with the Birds just like the Birds have to be exceptional to compete with GCL teams. This appears to be exceptional year for the Birds, but not the Tigers. Highlands 55 Beechwood 13. Beechwood will compete at the top as always in Class A.

That one leaves a bad taste in the mouth of the Bearcats. Learn from it and use it the rest of the season.

The Bluebirds' offense typically starts a bit slow at the beginning of the year. They will still be working out some kinks this week as well. I look for Ryle to be able to run a bit on the Birds, but will find it tough to score. The running game will shorten the game with HHS winning 24-7. This will be a hard hitting game. Ryle is tough and physical, but so is Highlands. I believe HHS has a few more play makers.

Walton D looked good last week. Bearcats should go 2-0.

Why was Henderson terrible every year when they dressed 90 to 100 players before Duffy? I know we live in an age where kids are pacified and have no accountability. Everyone wants a Fruit Roll Up and Capri Sun after practice or the game...please! If you think Western KY football was weak, wait and see what happens to Ryle in the state game. Ryle would be the 3rd place NKY 3a team. Duffy has been extremely successful everywhere. It is simple to pick on his few on field short comings. It is always easy to be a critic when you don't get dirty in the arena.

7-5 final record....0-5 against the Catholics...amen...Highlands lack of ability to execute on special teams. Cov Cath's defensive adjustments from game 1, and Highlands lack their of equal an extremely disappointing season. Good luck Colonels.
