I will go with SK over Lloyd based on the what I have seen and heard.

IMO the only thing I would change is in the top three. 1. Highlands - Return a ton of talent off a team that wasn't to bad to begin with. 2. Lexcath - State champs, but this a new year. 3. Bowling Green - They will be in the hunt all year.

I think in the end NCC will prevail and pull out a close victory.

Wow that would be crappy for ky, but I guess we would have to live with it. I don't think we get enough practice time now as it is.

And that would be your oppion. IMO Everyone but maybe Scott has a shot at the playoffs. There will be some upsets, there will be some blowouts and I feel in the end there will be one team in the playoffs this year that right now no one thinks has a chance.

The same QB that has been running his whole life and will be attending UK next year on a full ride for Football..........Time will tell in this one.

You take what you can get when it comes to scrimmages. Trust me when I say SK and the rest of 4A will have plenty of games to see where they stand when we get to 4A district play. I think that it will be interesting to see who fills the bottom two spots in the NKY 4A District. In my oppion Dixie and Boone are the top two teams going in with what they have returning. But you never know what will happen once the season starts though.

Although I hope for a Dixie win, I feel in the end Highlands wins this one by a few scores. I will say Highlands 38 - Dixie 21, close game at the half with the birds pulling away in the second half. I also agree with DMZ76,this may be the only loss on their regular season schedule except for the battle with Boone,which could be one of the better games to see all year in NKY.

I didn't see a thread for this one, if there is one please close and place my post in the old one. This was the score by the vasity squads, JV tied 1-1 td's. Holmes O and D looked pretty good in this one, Duran Jefferson had two nice scores and two nice two point convesion runs. Rodney Covington had a long run for a score as well. Holmes had two long runs called back because of penalty. They were more disicpline in the penalty category Friday though, it just happened to happen on key plays in the drives. LLoyd moved the ball pretty well at times, Holmes bowed there necks deep in there end several times and stopped LLoyd from scoring several times in the red zone. Holmes D had seveal sacks and several tackle for loss. I believe Thomas Benton had two sacks as well as the rest of the D line and LB's had several of the other tackles for loss and sacks. Holmes looked much more composed this week over last week. I am not sure if Labs, Fballstud, or HHSDAD were there to add any more details to this post. In my oppion LLoyd should be fine in the regular season. They looked good at times and I wish them luck in the regular season play. Holmes will move on to the season opener next Friday in the Cumberland Valley bowl against South Laurel at North Laurel at 6:30 PM.

Holmes only scored once in the first 10-play series, Holmes started getting a look at alot of varsity players, I am not sure that Dayton wore them down though. Austin Hill is focusing strictly on basketball during his senior season at Holmes and He is a great kid, I wish him nothing but the best. As for Holmes being one of the 4 playoff teams in NKY this year, My feeling is after Boone and Dixie the other two spots are open for the best two teams out of the rest of the group to take. Time will tell which two that will be.

Holmes Varsity squad scored 3 to Dayton's 1. Dayton's JV outscored Holmes's JV, not sure the score there. Early on you are correct Duran was not under center very much (He was in the slot however), Duran did lead the dawgs on all of there scoring drives though I think (I know he did on the last two). I believe Holmes's TD's were scored as follows Covington 2, Jefferson 1 or swap those numbers. Holmes D pretty much shut Dayton down for the most part, although Dayton had a few nice drives that were stumbed out by Holmes D or Penalties. Holmes O was a little rusty early on, but got moving late. Holmes did start the scrimmage with a run to the 2 yard line (About a 58-60 yarder) on the first play and punched it in on a Rodney Covington run up the middle on the next play. Holmes had 1 TD called called back by penalty early and 1 interception in the end zone on what may have been a tipped pass at the line. Both teams got three hours of needed work in and will move on to next weeks scrimmages. Dayton was a scrappy team and showed good sportmanship all day, I wish them luck this season.

I Will be there as well, if you would like to meet I'll be on top of the press box during the game filming for the dawgs. Before hand I will be setting up and and helping out the coaching staff on the field. Should be enjoyable, great hospitality last year at SL for our game against NL. Good luck to both the cardinals and dawgs as they meet up in the Cumberland Valley Bowl 2006, of course you know I will be pulling for Jefferson and the CVG Bulldogs to pull off the tuff road victory. I wish DJ well, I am very close to him and his family. I am sure when the time comes he will make the right choice. He can help UK's Football program and who know's what other offers may be placed in front of him in the future.

It's funny how everyone want's to past judgement on Holmes, but truly has no idea what these kids go through on a daily basis. I have no problem what the staff decides, I have no problem with giving someone second chance if needed. Either way with or without Edmondson or Rice Holmes can still contend for the 9th region championship.
