Holmes's Jame Miller #5 rushed for 154 yards and scored Four TD's (James Miller 16 run for TD, Miller 6 run for TD, Miller 18 run for TD, Miller 9 run for TD.) against South Laurel Friday night. This back up QB came in the second half add led the Bulldogs unto victory. In the first half he played RB and scored one of his to TD and then moved to QB second half and scored the rest. This is my nommination for this week.

I think the Tomcats will bounce back after last weeks loss to Raceland. I think a missed extra point either will decide this on. I say ........ Ashland - 14 Belfry - 13 Good luck to both teams!

I agree 100%, but for some reason this game brings out the best in Highlands and it is in Ft. Thomas this year I believe. This may be the best game of the year in nky and I would love to see it firsthand. In the end though I will give the slight edge to the Birds at this point.

I don't know if it will be that big of a blowout, but I do feel from what I have seen from the two. Holmes may have to much speed for HC to handle in the long run. HC on the other hand does have the slight size advantage. My prediction will come later in the week, I want to see how our kids look this week in practice. In this game you can through out stats and skill players, This is an emotional game for both teams. These kids know each other and both want to walk away with the win. Holy cross will come in knowing they just beat a 4A team and will be pumped up for a battle at Holmes. Holmes is coming in off a big road victory over a decint SL team that will grow as the season goes along. Good luck to both teams, we know where my alliance is. I have lots of friends on both sides of the field.

I am not going to predict that Holmes will make the playoffs, but if they stay focused and continue to follow Coach T and the rest of coaching staff. Remember 2006 is the year of the Dog and anything is possible. We will take it a game at a time and see what happens from there. Right now the team is focused on the battle of Covington, Holmes vs Holy cross. Dawg

I think they make the decisions at the half, I know last year in the Bowl game the MVP's were announced and alot of people went (huh).

I wasn't saying that SK had the biggest blowout, I was backing up a point I made earlier. Your right the score above was the best, congrats.

As always I respect your comments, you are knowledgeable football person. But we ran the same plays because we didn't need to use the rest of the book. When something isn't stopped why go away from it. Trust me if they would stopped it, we would have moved on to something else. Not to mention the fact that our starting QB rested the second half, he was pretty dominate in the 1st half.

I wouldn't be impressed with Holmes Offense either considering they tallied up over 400 yards of O and the D caused the turnovers. By the way tackeling is an important part of a teams D. I was impressed that Holmes drove 3 hours south and pretty much had their with a team that most people gave them no chance to do. Holmes ran out of gas in the second half and gave up some easy scores because of the score board and lack of efort running. The bottom line though was Holmes's speed was to much for SL on Friday.

Duran - Offesive MVP, we had abot 415 yards total offensive yards, Duran scored 1, Rodney Covington scored 1, James Miller #5 scored 3 TD, I think we passed three times and were 2-3 (one was a long pass) Julious Hall - Deffesive MVP, He had a scoup and score TD. Juicy played well on D - he had alot of tackles and caused three fumbles. Dontay Whatley had a pick, Juicy recovered a fumbled after stripping the ball carrier.

Looks like I was pretty accurate on this one, 51-3 would be cosidered a blow out.

Sorry it took so long to post,I didnt get back from Laurel Cty game until about 3:00 AM. Holmes looked good on O and D in the first half, DJ was a mastermind of the Holmes O. He took a few good licks in the first half and only punted once in the second. James #5 for Holmes took over the dawg O and continued to run the Dawgs down field past the 10-11 in the box D by the Cardinals. Overall it was a great road victory by the dawgs and I am proud to say a Holmes team traveled 3 hours south and won a big first game of the season. IMO Oppion the difference in the game was Holmes's speed compared to SL's speed. SL's D ran a 3-5 D almost the complete game and it didn't help to much against Holmes's speed. Holmes did run out of gas in the third quarter and I'm sure that will be addressed by Coach T and the Holmes coaching staff next week. Holmes will get in better shape, I can guarentee that between Coach T and our D-Line / Strenght Coordinator Coach P we will be in shape very soon. Can you say lot's of sprints? Overall I proud of my Dawgs and it could be an interesting season in the COV. Dawg out!

Was there a point you were trying to make from mine. It was my oppion, Based on seeing SK scrimmage twice and playing Lloyd I feel it will be a blowout. If your scenario happens, I would hate to be in the stands for that one:sleep: :sleep:
