If Holmes doesn't make the stupid penaltities that have haunted them in some past games and they can move the ball against a good Dixie D they have a shot to play with the red colonels. I think a big Defensive or Special teams play by either squad will decide this one. As always I don't like to make predictions, I'm a Bulldog first and a Red Colonel second. Of course I am hoping to come out of Edgewood with a victory, Friday night we will find out if Holmes speed can move the ball on a very good Dixie D. Dixie O will score points, but if they let Holmes backs loose in their secondary it will be a will be very interesting night. Good luck to both teams, neither can take the other lightly.

If Holmes could put up 42 on sk, please inlighten me on how you think Scott will slow down Holmes offense. They don't have a player on there team that can contain this Holmes team. They will unleash the beast this week, they thought they had SK beat , which would have been huge. But if Holmes can put up 42 on SK. This game could get ugly if Holmes plays there A game and not there D game. IMO Holmes will be looking for revenge from last year and they may name the score. I will predict Holmes 35 - Scott 14. And by the way this is no knock on Scott, I just don't think they have the horses to hang with the speed of the dawgs. I just don't think they stop Rodney Covington or Duran Jefferson. Good luck to both teams, but I think the Dawgs win this one home.

I was unable to attend because I was in the hospital. I am proud of my Dawgs for going into a very hostile invironment and come out with a w. I really wish I could have been there, but I will be back next week. Congrats to coach T and the rest of the coaching staff on the victory. I let them down this week, but couldn't control it. To Connor players and fans and Holmes players and fans I was very pleased to here there was great sportsmanship. Great job on both sides in this hard fought game. Chris was the best athlete to ever come to Holmes in my mind before he got hurt but I think I would have to put Anthony Hughes in my starting 5 even though Hughes was a true point guard. And if you bring up Chris you could even bring up Feodi Beal (spelling?) Dicky's nephew. I heard he was better then Dicky but we never got to see. Outstanding athlete no doubt about it. Like we used to say in the hallway at school, death , taxes, and Chris Hayes getting you 20. His injusry was very unfortunate, and he average 18 his senior year dragging one leg the whole time.

The Conner game is next week, we have a bye this week. Just an FYI in case your in town all week. Holmes did bounce back nicely, but I don't think there was much doubt in this one from the start. Holmes had way to much speed from the skill positions for PC to handle. I think they had close to 500+ yards rushing on Friday, I know Rodney Covington had over 200+. The one kid from PC must of had 30 tackles, because I heard his name every other play. He was also the main RB on O. Good luck to PC the rest of the season, Holmes needs to prepare hard the next two weeks to hopefully start the district schedule out on a positive note.

I like this list except for number 10, I could be any of 4-5 teams, HC, Holmes, Newport, Conner, etc. HC beat Holmes (but you can throw records out the window in this one, it is marked on HC's Calender every year, I just can't seem to find it on mine) These kids know each other and it is a battle every year no matter what. So I would probably go with a three way tie between HC, Holmes, Conner IMO.

Holmes from 1976-1978, won the region every year and only lost onw or two games to teams from NKY. The 1978 team lost in the state final against Shelby Co.

In my oppion it may have been Covington Holmes or Raceland, neither were really picked to do well in there games. I welcome all comments on this one, just take it easy on the Dawg.:laugh:
