HHSDawgs1424
Saw this one coming...Holmes speed and athleticism, combined with a little fuel from last year's loss spelled doom for the Eagles. Any one have any details? I was unable to make it.

letabrotherspeak
I hate to see it but the Eagles have regressed as the year has gone along. It looks like their numbers are slipping from when I saw them earlier in the year against Holy Cross. After that game, which they should have won, they have left a lot to be desired. As an alum, I think the Board needs to take a closer look at this program. The culture around the program needs to change. I thought Coach Riegler was doing some positive things there and the administration didn't back him and they lost a good coach when he left. I believe he was at Holmes last year, is he coaching anywhere this year? I don't know what has to be done. They haven't been world beaters but have done decently and now they seem back in their rut. I'm not sure if it is coaching, but Casey is a young fellow, and will have some growing pains. After Coach Riegler left they hired the guy from Ludlow, and gets in there for a week and gets rebuffed over a few things and he decides it isn't going to work. I'm not sure what it will take but it definitely needs some culture shock and support from te upper administration. As for the game, Scott was embarrassed. They got down in a hurry and were never in it. Deck made some unwise decisions with the football, and had a tough time chasing Holmes players around the field. As for Holmes, they got rid of that bitter taste after losing to SK in a hurry, but it was rather curious to see their coach leave their starters in so late into the game. Heck the Jefferson kid got hurt trying to recover a fumble when they were up 30+ points in the fourth quarter. He was down for a while. Not sure the injury but left the field under his own power, but seemed to be in pain. Looked like it may have been a shoulder. In addition, Holmes tacked on their final points of the night, late with a touchdown pass from their starting QB to a starting receiver to push them over the 50 point mark. Not sure if the intent was there to run the score up but looked like it. The Eagles need to regroup, but it is far too late. Hopefully, someone fromt he upper administration will invest some time and see them turn that thing around, because right now it is pretty darn ugly. Riegler is taking some time off he is still with the Holmes program has been on their sidelines during the year but for some reason wasn't at this game. As for the pass with about 2 min left in the game to score over fifty I wont go in deep on it because I dont want this thread going in the wrong direction but was not a class act at all but not suprised at it. But it was a nice pass against the JV team Holmes impressed me how well thier QB #5 can run the option play i think he scored 4 times if im not mistaking. The option is a great play to run if you can run it correctly and he ran it great.

HHSDawgs1424
They say he now has 18 td's for the season. Incredible! I believe you're referring to James Miller. He is only a junior. So expect big things out of this kid next year when Jefferson leaves.
nkysportslegend
James Miller is a good back and I can see why the new O coordinator wants to run the ball with him in their. Holmes is just too athletic and fast for Scott, and this should be the case with a bunch of other schools.

Holmes is doing a lot of great things right now though and playing better football. IMO they could sneak in as a #4 seed. If they can upset either Boone or Dixie one of the next two weeks, I think they should take care of business against Campbell.
Sting
Be careful... Campbell County is a very underated team. Just ask Simon Kenton about that.
nkysportslegend
Be careful... Campbell County is a very underated team. Just ask Simon Kenton about that. The only people from SK that would underestimate CC would be the coaches, I know a lot of people around the school and program who thought that CC was going to give SK trouble and if SK didn't come out swinging they were going to get it handed to them. I wouldn't say Holmes is going to take care of business, if they aren't ready and don't play together they could be victim of a blowout.
Sting
I didn't think SK took CC lightly, I justed used them as the latest example of someone who could testify that CC is alot better than people percieve them.

I didn't make my last statement clear, I don't think the coaches really had the players ready for just how good CC was, and if they did then it can fall back on the players, but to me it just seemed like they weren't prepared.
