Who are some of the state's best?

In the SE part of the state, a few I can think of are:

??? Cole at Somerset

Shawn Childress at Rockcastle

Terry Bingham at South Laurel

Shawn Asher at North Laurel

 

However, Childress & Asher won't see a ton of balls as their teams will primarily be run oriented offenses.

Trinity's receiver corps will be young as last year's was senior laden. I am not 100% sure as to what we have coming up just yet, can any Rocks help me out here?

The Dutton twins will be very good. Kyle Flynn will be a senior and get a lot of touches. He has been Petrino's "go to guy" as freshmen and in JV. Rounding out the receivers is Melillo (tall with good hands), Leach (just a sophmore but lots of speed) and Stein (back-up QB will get a lot of reps at WR). I also believe the TE position will be back under OC Andrew Coverdale and Ricky Miller will be a great target (6'4" back up QB) for Petrino.

Wes Caldwell from Lexington Catholic led the state in TD's last year and he has over 1,000 yards. He is the number one guy in the state coming into the year. He will also have tons of talent around him at the other skill positions.

Question is, who will be getting him the ball? He had an awesome QB working with him last season.

Very underrated in Class A is Will Pope, a very athletic senior to be at Harlan. No one will hear of him at a small rural school with a run-oriented offense, but he has speed, consistent hands, and is a terrific leaper who is unafraid of putting his body on the line. He made several acrobatic catches last season while being often double-teamed as Harlan's only receiving threat.

 

With Chase Jones likely inserted at QB this season, Harlan should throw a bit more, thereby giving Pope a chance to post impressive numbers.

Kurt Bovard and Pete Sutton (more of a split end) should lead NKY in catches/yards. Both phenonmenal players.

Matt Robertson #7 from SW is going to be one to watch. He is a tall and lanky kid. He runs very smooth, and runs great routes. Most of all he can catch the ball. His speed is good.. Doesn't look like he is running as fast as he really is.

Could be one to watch.

Chase Hamlin at Williamsburg led the state in class A in receptions last year as a junior. He is bigger, stronger and faster and should do great things in the Jackets pass happy offense this year as a senior.

Chase Minnifield, Aaron Boyd, and Clark Jeter are all good ones for Henry Clay.
