I believe they lost some key players to injuries this year. Steven and staff have them going in the right direction. Especially now that they are keeping their players from traveling East and/or NW every morning.

Coach Kirk really saved their butts if we are being real. Tim is a great man, and a great coach... I just don't know how much he can do at MS, they don't exactly scream support for athletics especially football.

Madison Southern is not letting go of Kirk. They had a disappointing season because of the mess the ADMIN created (it was handled horribly) when Mark Payne stepped down with the hire of the TN coach that no one wanted (he was 3rd choice by everyone but the ADMIN) (Multiple players left- Estill, Rock and Garrard all benefited), (a lot of players quit etc). Then dude leaves them in June.....The season 100% is on the admin.

And who they should’ve hired to start with! Great person and coach. The agenda the administration tried to push failed miserably. Sadly, has caused many kids to leave, hopefully Coach Kirk can salvage what was going to be a good couple year talent wise.

The administration pushed their own agenda from day one and it has back fired on them!

In fairness, Payne and Rogers left for head coaching jobs but the # is the still the #.

Josh Roberts was the DC for Hines I think for a while. I'm pretty sure GJ didn't even apply.

Y’all have to remember the super will control this hire IMO. I doubt he’d want to hire 2 coaches…. I don’t think foley applies or leaves SW for PC. JMO. The names I’ve heard JF isn’t one of them.

I think Payne flips this faster than most think. The kids are buying into him from what I’m told. A lot of differences from what they are used too. The offense will be much better I think, as they have some kids who can play. The OL/DL should be a strong point for them. Find some play makers and stay healthy will help, obviously. Tough schedule but I’m a Mark Payne fan, and he’s putting together a nice staff it seems.

This is an extremely tough job. Resources, support etc…. A lot of hills to climb here.

Yes he was at LG. He was also in admin I believe at a private school for a while.

For all that Coach Larkey did at NL… they didn’t appreciate him! To worried about ?. Hopefully the new coach can continue to flip the attitude on that.

Yep! The leadership at the school currently is very academic based and won’t break the bank for sports. The principal at Ms and at Mc are in a rat race to see who can get to the BOE office first. So, that makes it all interesting as well.

From what I know… the 3 they went for said NO. I’ve heard a few different back up, back up candidates.
