I was wondering the same, assuming the scoreboard has this outcome right.  They had Bracken beating Mason 64-54 for a while.

Wow, definitely would be considered a huge upset!

Congrats to Coach Newton and the Eagles.  Class act.  It is an upset IMO, but Madison Southern has some solid talent in their program.  They will be super tough the next few seasons as well.

Jay Rose is one of the best wing players in his class, and they have good collective size as well.

Well going back on the KHSAA website as far as it currently goes which is 24 years back to the 1999 tournament. This is only the 2nd time they have not won the 44th district title the other was 2017.  So 22 out of the last 24 districts is pretty impressive, that being said it is one of the weakest districts in the state as well. 

Also getting them for your home game the first round of the region will not be a picnic either.

Third district title in school history, which opened in the 1988-89 season. They won in 1995 along with 2017 as you mentioned. Madison Southern has made twenty appearances in the region tournament and has never won a first round game.
