This early on, I'm going with the speed of Male, but this is just my preliminary guess, what are your guys take on the current situation in 4-A?

I am going with X. They are always solid and from the work I heard Victor Anderson is putting in right now, he could be near unstoppable this fall.

Intersting, 5 mintues later and already the big 3 are neck and neck and neck. :walk:

I voted Trinity by the way.

I think there will be little to seperate the big 3 this year. Male is due have a ton of speed and decent size but they just can't seem to play defense when they have to and what about QB, the rocks have experience at QB,should be solid on D but lost a lot of key receivers and RB, X should be solid all around with a great running game but will they be able to throw? Stay tuned. I would not look outside of the big 3 this year IMO.

I think people are overestimating Male.. not to say they won't BE Male, which is always going to be tough with Bobby Redman, but they're going to be the bottom rung of the Big 3 this year, IMO. And this is simply based off of previous freshman and JV performances, which isn't always the best way to judge how a varsity team will be.

I think I'll vote for X, even though Trinity is just as likely.

Male hasn't done anything, except beat Manual, since Bush left and I don't see their luck changing anytime soon.

Of course I voted for X obviously, but it very well could be the Rockheads again this year. September 22nd may be the best X - T game in years with a possible sequal to follow in the regional final.

I am a SEKY 4A fan who is curious what team could have warranted a vote on here on this poll? The only 4A teams I can think of in this area are:

Whitley County, North Laurel, & South Laurel and while I think they could all be better this season, I don't see them being in contention for a state title. Just curious which team has a 'shot' at the 4A title from our area. Call me crazy, but I am just not seein it.

I think NKY will. Best chance in years for multiple reasons.

If you don't mind my asking, what are they?

Male has also exited the playoffs in the second round 2 consecutive years. I'm going with St X this year. It's a YIN-YANG thing.

Can't NKY get to the final without facing Trinity this season? If so, then I guess SM may be correct. In years past if an NKY team knocked off the Rocks they would have to win another game against the best of Lexington then get the reward of facing Male or X in most cases. This year has less obstacles.

Based on the fact that they return 7 on offense and 9 on defense, have great skill athletes, led by Doug Beaumont, and have a large sized line to compliment their super speed, my mind says Male should be the favorite. My heart, however, tells me that an exciting, young Tiger squad will find a way to prevail. I'm voting with my heart! :jump:

What's it like down there in the trenches with all those sandbags? :p

Come on now, Pep, how can I be sandbagging, when I pick the least experienced team amongst the Big 3? :D

By the way, it's good to see that you are getting a break from the teaching load, and have more time to share your thoughts :scared: once again on BGP. :thumb:
