I think that the loss to Shelby County at the Louisville shows that defense needs some work.

Quite a large percentage of "would-be" starters were taking their ACT's that day. No worries, we'll beat Shelby County handily.

I think that Trinity's hopes will depend on Petrino's health. Tough kid but he absolutely must roll out to be sucessful and if you do that 30 times a game for 15 games, I gotta believe that someplace somewhere a 300 pound lineman will fall on him. 7 on 7 is his specialty and they will win some shootouts. Petrino continues to impress me personally with his toughness. I believe that to be his specialty.

As to the defense, what effect did the d-line, blitzing LB's, and contact have in those 7 on 7 games? I'm guessing not much.

Either way, I wouldn't count on a shift in the balance of power over a passing camp 7 on 7. The Rocks area perenial top 5 team.

He managed to do pretty well in the pocket last season in addition to the rollouts. I don't think that there is much to worry about on that end.

I totally agree that he did well. I think he will have an even better year this year. He brings excitement to the field and should be one of the favorites for Mr Football.

My concern is if he goes down, how many reps does Stein have? How many reps did Stein take in the 7 on 7? If Petrino went down in the final game last year, could Grant Cutliff could of come in and be sucessful? During the 77-7 Ballard game, when did Petrino come out? I think Beatty will stay longer during the blowout games with Petrino just like he did with Brohm his senior year.
