Not a Male grad (St. X) but in fairness to Male that stretch in the 70s was largely due tot he beginning of busing in Jefferson county. Also, Male took hits when it became a traditional school.

Again, time for the experiment to come to a conclusion.

Need someone with experience. We are losing relevancy. Call was apparently made by administration and not athletic department. Good man, but not a good hire.

Saw the game. Male is very talented at the skill positions, but I was not as impressed with the line. Their receivers and backs took some real hits. Will be hard to beat. Tigers are playing well but I don't know if they can pull it off. Losses to Male, T, and Central all by less than 5. Starting QB missed about 3 series, but backup played well. Looked like ankle.

Having been somewhat involved at X, I can say that the decision not to admit is largely based on reading skills. If the test scores indicate a 4th grade reading level they will not be accepted. The feeling is that X can make up 2 years in 4, but not 4. The reading catches up as sophs because of the harder curriculum, foreign language, math, science , etc. with no study hall or PE. Maybe 10 or so a year. As far as the game goes I hope it is close. I just don't see it for the Tigers this year.

I find that surprising. I thought they were playing each other in the sixties. Not so much the margin, but the number of games played.

I do not know the answer but assume X lost the scrimmage. Score? The answer may be in the CJ this morning which said X only returned 3 starters. Like many I am concerned over this hire.

Where is the scrimmage? If it is in Loiusville will SK be able to show up this year?

X and Flaget were the only two Jefferson County schools who would play Central, then an all black school, in the early 1950s. I believe started in 1951. Those teams were recently honored by Central. Probably have played at least 50 times over the years. X has allowed Central to practice on their turf field at playoff time.

When my sons played at X the school paid for subway sandwiches after the road games which were taken with the parent group. As I recall the players took their own pre game sandwiches etc. After home games parent sponsors provide food in the cafeteria for players and families. Burgers, pizza, etc. On Thursday players went to players homes by position, which was fun. Luckily I did not have offensive linemen!

With money for education being what it is, how are these stadiums paid for in some of the smaller counties, and is money diverted from the education area or budget to finance these? A lot of money for just a few times a year's use.
