Sounds like a good night. Looking forward to it. Hoping to get some of the gang together and enjoy a wonderful inspirational evening.

I remember Donovan was helping to move some trophies around the school the summer before his freshman year. The problem with Donovan is he would read every trophy and ask about it. Most were the State football trophies. He was actually affraid to move them. It took awhile. Loved how into the trophies he was and how special they were to him. So glad that now he and the team of 2012 have their own.

Awesome! Big congrats to David. Great school and so glad that Dayton is getting some of Highlands finest.

Great group of players and congrats to them all.

We send our blessings. I am sure he was a proud papa. Continue on with the lessons he has taught and your life will be fulfilled.

I feel a classic coming on.

I hear for 2013, some waterboys may have trouble filling their cups. Couldn't resist.

Our thoughts and prayers are with coach Hottell and his family.

Well, we do have a few extra rooms that we could rent out.

Dag gone it. If the print on this site doesn't get any bigger, I'm gonna have to open up a site for all the blind ole football foggies. And we are gonna have are own State football team that is going to include every player in the state that deserves to be all state everything.

That was my year. Wished I had seen this thread earlier and posted the correct answer before LN posted his WRONG answer. Heck , he should have known it, his brother was on the team that year.

Big congrats to ALL the All State players. Especially to Highlands , McCoy, Dee and Hope. Also to Coach Turner at Highlands for the awesome Oline he continues to develop year in and year out.

We are talking Whackem here.:idunno:

Big Congrats! I counted ten state championships on the web site. I only see nine state trophies. Are you hiding one Mayfieldsportfan?

Good Night Qryche11, I'll see you in the Basketball forums where I will discuss something I know nothing about.

Where did BM2 ever resort to name calling ? Stop making it out to be something political. It was a fun afternoon for the team and the students at the grade schools. It has happened in years past. Nothing new. Move on ......

I have a pair of shoes that were autographed by J Lo and Derek, when my sons where in grade school. The kids love it and yes every sport should do it when they win state, and yes Whackem is just stirring things up in the off season.:idunno:

You are correct. I didn't word that the best. Chuck Kyle as an All American is a really cool accomplishment. I don't believe Highlands has had another since.

Well, there has only been one All American out of Highlands and that was Chuck Kyle and I believe the year was 1964. Of Course he was named in previous "the best of" but there hasn't been one since. So, there have been plenty of well deserving and many more to follow , but for now, in my opinion, there is only one.

I wasn't going to point it out . I knew I would have been stating the obvious to you.

Actually, I believe Chuck Kyle is the only All American Highlands has had. He played on the '64 team I think. I could be wrong. If you know different , I would love to know that.

He just really was fun to watch. He seemed to put alot of heart into every play. Noticed he had a knee brace which may have caused him to be a step slower, but boy he was going to give it his all to get it done regardless.

Tennessee does this and it is ruining there football.

What a great game. Congrats to NC. Really impressed with #54. He just seemed to give 110% on every play.

After sitting thru 4 State Championship games this weekend, it became very clear why some teams are continuously successful and why others are a step or two behind the pack. It has nothing to do with classes and everything to do with coaching and the mindset of the players.
