Also, that was back when Fern Creek was top notch year in and year out.

Nice to see Garrard County riding high in 1996. That was Coach Perry's last year at Garrard County and their last year in Class A. People tend to forget how solid Class A was back then. The class had Mayfield, Bardstown, Beechwood, Harrodsburg, Garrard County, Lexington Catholic, Hazard, Pikeville, Raceland. That was pretty good football.

That was the first year Boyle emerged on the state level. They finally snapped the streak vs. Danville in the playoffs and road that momentum to narrow loss in the semi-finals to Breathitt County.
