  1. I never said he could contribute right away. I said he had the talent to but wouldn't be able to at a larger D1 school until his late soph early jr year. GO back and read my posts and you'll see where I stated that.
  2. Holmes senior guard Austin Hill will continue his basketball career at Southeastern Illinois College next season. Hill accepted a scholarship offer from the junior college to help him prepare for the next level. He said Winthrop, Akron and Marquette are the major colleges still interested in him. "All the colleges that recruited me, when I told them I was going (to junior college), they all said they'd grab me out of there when I'm finished," Hill said. Holmes coach David Henley is a graduate of Southeastern Illinois College. He convinced the coaching staff to come and take a look at Hill during the Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Game earlier this month. "It's the best thing for him right now," Henley said of Hill's decision to enroll in the junior college. "He'll just get better all around, and he'll be doing it against good competition because their league is as good as any junior college league in the country." Hill was voted Player of the Year by local high school coaches after Holmes won the 9th Region championship and made it to the semifinals of the state tournament in March. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound senior averaged 17.8 points and 5.3 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who won 14 of their last 16 games to finish with a 25-10 record. Hill visited the Southeastern Illinois College campus during spring break and plans to sign a letter of intent at 3:30 p.m. today in the Holmes athletic office. He plans to use the junior college as a stepping stone to playing for a major college program. "It's going to take hard work for me to get there, but I can do it," Hill said. "I feel like this is the best situation for me right now."
  3. Bourbon is really struggling this year. Nice win for Scott though.
  4. He's out but only if the pitcher makes an attemped move at him. The pitcher just turned really quick without stepping off the rubber which caused him to balk before the call could be made. The play against NCC the kid got his lead and then just kind of jogged out toward the outfield.
  5. Nice win for the Stangs. BTW Nathan is one of the ebst pitchers in NKY. Whether or not he's the best is up for debate. There are a few others who could certainly make a case for it though.
  6. Tough loss for Walton. I expected them to come out of the 8th but congrats to Trimble on a W over a solid team.
  7. Very nice win for Ryle. They're really proving themselves in the early part of the schedule. Not only are they winning games they should, but they're doing it in convincing fashion. IMO CCH is the only team that will compete and possibly beat Ryle for the 9th region title this year.
  8. Congrats to Mr. Hill on his decision. I had a chance to speak with him and this is probably best for him at this point. He plans to go there for a year or 2 then go D1, which isn't a bad idea. It will give him a little more time to develop since he'll be playing more so when he does go to a D1 program he can step in right away and make an impact.
  9. Newport coached the East last year my friend. Holmes was 2 years ago. So 2 out of the last 3 years he's coached it.
  10. I'll definetly be there for the HHS-Trotwood and Colerain-Hoover game.
  11. Solid win for CCH. They're really playing great ball right now. Good to hear the soph's are contributing as well.
  12. What about Beechwood's "trick" play they pulled off to beat NCC in the All A region championship 2 years ago? Runners on 1st and 3rd for Bwood, kid on first takes off running in to right field causing everyone to start screaming and make the pitcher to turn quickly stepping off the rubber and balk. Ball game, Beechwood wins.
  13. Sounds like the play from Little Big League.... :sssh:
  14. Nice win for the Colonels. Sounds like they're really coming around.
  15. Every team gets 5 players this year since most of the time not all will show up. Dixie will coach the East side this year. Holmes 5 players going are: Justin Young LB Duran Jefferson Ath (WR/DB/QB) Rodney Covington (RB) Tommy Britton (OL/DL) Dante Whatley (WR/DB)
  16. Both Hill and Rice of Holmes made honorable mention.
  17. I agree with you. I don't think he is a 1st 2nd or 3rd teamer, but definetly honorable mention.
  18. I was wondering the same. Do you know how many players they have? I counted 35 diamonds.
  19. I think the newest rings are the best, although the 03 ones are nice. 06 , 03 , 05 , 01, 02
  20. Austin hasn't taken any visits to those schools yet. He plans on doing so during the next month. This is why he hasn't signed with them yet. Also If I'm not mistaken, he plans on taking the ACT again.
  21. I was thinking the exact same things. I think Arrez Henderson (not being biased) of Holmes really brought out Profitt's weaknesses and showed that Profitt was overrated. With that being said, Henderson is a VERY GOOD defender, but Profitt is going to be going up against kids like him at the next level EVERY night. Don't look for Profitt to score much at the next level especially playing in the big east. IMO he should have went somewhere smaller where he can make a bigger impact. But hopefully I'm wrong...I love rooting for a KY product at the next level.
  22. I've just been wondering. I expected a lot out of Profitt when I saw him against Holmes and came away very unimpressed and it doesn't seem like he's done much more in the last two games he's played with talent at the same level of his.
  23. No worries man. We all get a little mixed up sometimes. :thumb:
  24. What's up with Profitt? In his last 3 games (Holmes, KY all star at THomas More, and this game), Profitt has a combined 14 points. Could this be due to much better talent defending him?
