Highlands 10 Campbell County 0 (5 innings)

Very nice win for the Bluebirds. Seems like they're finally putting together consistent ballgames. -

:thumb: Profitt is probably a better ball handler and quicker, but Hill is a better slasher and rebounder. Either way they're both nice players. -

Exactly. Here are just a few names who have left Holmes after Middle school or during high school career. 07 Class- Mike Hester- Starting Point Guard SK Charles Johnson- Leading Receiver in football and basketball player for Lloyd Nate Edmondson- Top 10 player in NKY for Gallatin Co Ryan Luster- Another top player for the Ryle football team. Would have been a lot better at basketball had he practiced and stayed at Holmes If you add those 4 to the Holmes group from this past year....Wow. But things happen so we can't think of what could have been. -

[QUOTE=Log Mountain Boy]Couldn't agree anymore there. And Profitt is a good ball player, don't get me wrong...I just don't think he's as good as advertised. I think it depends on who is evaluating him. Ive heard a lot of people who arent very high on him. I believe in his class he is a top 5 or 6 player. 1. Walls 2. Pettigrew 3. Beckham 4. Brooks 5. Rice 6. Proffit 7. Hill 8. Anderson 9. Coleman (maybe higher, I havent seen him play) 10. Beaumont I can live with Profitt bein top 10. Where he falls though? I'd personally take Hill over him but some might say that's just me being biased so I'll put him and Hill as a 6a and 6b. :thumb: -
Randy Moss a Patriot
HHSDawgs1424 replied to MysteriousOnes's topic in National Football League (NFL)
Moss character was only affected when he was losing. New England will win atleast 10 games. Moss spoke to Bellichick and knows what is expected of him now that he is a Patriot. Anyone who thinks Bellichick or the Patriots organization will put up with Moss's troubles of before are crazy. As long as Moss is winning he's happy. New England will win...We'll see the old Moss. Also Moss has NEVER had a good QB throwing to him since he's been in the NFL. Brady will bring out the best in Moss. -

Stallworth and Moss is going to be ridiculous. -

I thought the same thing. The Patriots organization is a smart one though. That is why they've had the recent success they've had. They got rid of Branch and Givens last year and no one thought they'd be anything they were. Bellichick (sp) is just a great coach and knows how to work with the talent he has. -

I never said there was no chance for injuries ...everyone knows injuries happen. On paper, as you said, the Patirots are the team to beat. -
JaMarcus Russell -- what say you?
HHSDawgs1424 replied to h.s.sportsrbest's topic in National Football League (NFL)
Jamarcus Russell will be a good QB. Not a pro bowler, but good. He played in the SEC 4 years so it's not like he didn't play against top level competition. You can't really compare him to any other Qb with any of his attributes except his size. He has good mobility for how big he is and an arm better than probably 80% of the NFL QB's. He has great support from his family and won't fall in to the trap of thinking he's bigger than the game. He'll stay focused and keep working and become a GOOD NFL qb. -
The Golden State Warriors
HHSDawgs1424 replied to Wireman's topic in National Basketball Association (NBA)
I've seen Dirk play in person and I have to agree with you. He is 7' but never wants to take it to the rim. IMO he is a one dimensional perimeter player and won't be great until he learns to start driving more often. As far as the Warriors go, Barn Davis has this team playing great. Their uptempo style is killing the Mavs. -

Sure seems those 5 are the early favorites. That would be an unreal lineup. -
WKU just got a great player. I still think he could have gone a little higher, but he'll be able to shine at WKU. Congrats to the young man on his decision.

[QUOTE=Log Mountain Boy]I think Proffit put too much on himself to try to do too much and it hurt his team. Plus Holmes was a very athletic bunch. Proffit won't be a pointguard at the next level, which will help him a lot I believe. Hes a good ball player and his high school career speaks for itself. Couldn't agree anymore there. And Profitt is a good ball player, don't get me wrong...I just don't think he's as good as advertised. -

Your college basketball #1 draft choice
HHSDawgs1424 replied to BigBlueFreak's topic in College Basketball
Guard--Oscar Robertson. Most dominating guard ever. AVERAGED a triple double. Big Man- Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul Jabaar). Most dominating big man of his time. Who was the really good big man for I think Houston or N.C State in Alcindor's day? He dominated Alcindor when they met in the NCAA tourney. -

Agreed. Profitt is a good ball handler. He just seemed selfish at times and took off balance shots because he was getting frustrated that everywhere he went Henderson was right in his hip. But Profitt will see much better defenders at the next level than Henderson which is why I feel he's overrated. Against athletic defenders, he struggles. -

That is correct. It's not a for sure thing yet though. I think they are cousins or former stand out Greg Rice. IF they do transfer, both will make an impact and make Holmes one of the heavy favorites, joining Henderson, Nelson, Avery , and Clark. -
All Star Team Announced per Courier Journal
HHSDawgs1424 replied to coachescorner's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Very big honor for the school and both young men. It kind of just goes to show just how underrated both were. Hill and Rice will both make an impact in the KY-IN game. I can't wait to see them play with the likes of Walls and Pettigrew. I think we may see a couple Walls to Rice alley oops in the game. -

Profitt is a nice player, just not as good as he is hyped to be. Definetly not better than some of the players he was chosen over who proved themselves against tougher competition. -

Best fast pitch softball pitcher?
HHSDawgs1424 replied to roosterhead's topic in KY Softball (High School)
Amanda Jump is another VERY good pitcher as well. I think NKY might have 2 of the state's top 10 pitchers, Allen obviously being #1 and Jump probably in the 5-10 range. -
Best fast pitch softball pitcher?
HHSDawgs1424 replied to roosterhead's topic in KY Softball (High School)
Kirsten Allen will break Abner's record this year without a doubt. She is just a phenomenal pitcher. Oh BTW, she's only a junior and she has already tied Becky Abner's record. Kirsten Allen will be the best fastpitch pitcher to ever come out of KY. The records she is going to set not only this year, but also NEXT YEAR as a senior, won't be touched.
