All Star Team Announced per Courier Journal
Agreed. Holmes being the only school to have two representatives speaks a lot about how talented and how hard these two young men have worked . Same can be said about everyone else on the list as well. When was the last time a school had two members on the team?

All Star Team Announced per Courier Journal
If it were up to me both Rice and Hill would start, only Rice doesn't play as good of defense as some of the other guys on the list. Everyone on the list is well deserving and I wouldn't have a problem with any of them being in the starting 5 over Hill or Rice, as long as they worked harder and proved themselves. :thumb: But I'm not the only one who thinks Hill should start...Your Daddy does as well. (See post # 8 ) :thumb:

Holmes' Greg Rice to JUCO
Congrats to Rice. Article from KY post: Greg Rice's high school basketball career has ended on a high note. The Holmes senior, who was dismissed from the team near the end of his junior season, signed with Columbus State Community College on Sunday. If Rice does well at the Ohio junior college, he could still be recruited by an NCAA or NAIA basketball team. That's the long-range goal he set for himself. "I'll just work hard for two years, if I get out before that it would be great, and then go to a bigger school and play," Rice said. The athletic, 6-foot-4 senior scored more than 1,000 points during his high school career. He averaged 17.7 points and eight rebounds during his senior season and helped lead Holmes to the semifinals of the state tournament. Rice was named to the all-state tournament team and received an invitation to the Kentucky Senior All-Stars tryouts held last weekend at Georgetown College. He was also voted one of the top 10 players in Northern Kentucky by local coaches. Holmes coach David Henley said Columbus State has been recruiting Rice since the beginning of the season. The junior college plans to use him in a different position than he played in high school. "They're going to use him more as a guy on the wing because they've already signed some big inside kids," Henley said. "That's good for him because he'll get to take the ball to the basket more." Last season, Columbus State lost in the opening round of the national junior college playoffs and finished with a 15-16 record. Rice said he went to a Columbus State game during the regular season and liked the Cougars' style of play. "They run my kind of game," he said. "They play up and down and want to use me as a No. 2 guard." Both of Columbus State's starting guards last season were sophomores. If they're used up their two years of junior college eligibility, it will give Rice an opportunity to play next season. "They said I would (play) if I worked hard," he said. "They'll give me a shot." Rice is the second Holmes player recruited by a junior college. Senior guard Austin Hill signed with Southeastern Illinois College earlier this month.

AP All-State team announced
Profitt isn't a top 5 player in the state IMO. When he actually played against a good defensive team, he got shut down. Other than that, both selections look good. Congrats to all of the players.

St. Henry 3 Brossart 1
I would have expected Brossart to win this game being a favorite in the 10th. Maybe the 9th is top to bottom that strong this year?

Coaches uniforms
That's what the majority are doing. Some are just too old and well PLUMP aroudn the mid section to wear regular uniform tops

"Quality" of fields in NKY
All 3 Boone Co fields are decent but not above average. IMO St henry has the best field with Meinken being second behind it. Those are the only two fields who have mounds that resemble a major league mound and not just a hill and the infield/outfield are pretty decent size. Scott has a pretty nice field as well, especially with the addition of the lights. Ludlow and Dayton are two of the worst fields to play at. No grass and the fences are uneven.

KY All-Star tryouts?
Rice is a little more athletic than Hill. And at his height, he is a lot better than most both inside and out. Rice is an athletic forward, Hill is more of a SG type player. Rice is good down low because he's a lot quicker than the big men who are guarding him, and it helps that he can jump out of the gym. Just ask any team he dunked on this year.

Brossart's woes continue. Weren't they supposed to be on of the favorites in the 10th this year?

Campbell County 4 CovCath 1
:thumb: BTW CCH is one of the 2 favored to win the 9th region. They are #12 in the state right now and top 20 every year. This is a very solid win for the Camels.

Campbell County 4 CovCath 1
Campbell is a solid team. And today proved they might be one of the top teams in NKY. This is a CCH Campbell thread though so I'm not going to get in to the GRC CC-who's better debate.

Sounds like Dixie's bats finally came alive.

Wow kind of surprised by this score. Great win for the Camels. They look to be the favorite in the 10th. Covcath will rebound. Playing 9 games in a week is tough.

KY All-Star tryouts?
Rice has been one of the most athletic players in nky since his soph year. If he were 2 inches taller at maybe 6'6 or 6'7 he'd be a big D1 recruit.
-
The hidden ball trick!
You'd be surprised. Some high school teams still try it. I know Ludlow does every once in a while.

Highlands 6 Ryle 4
Nice win and confidence booster the the young Birds. Raiders will rebound and both teams got better today. Enough said.
