For the first time this season, the CovCath outfield let their pitching staff down. With CovCath leading 1-0, Campbell County got a lead off double in the bottom of the second inning and playing the percentages the next batter bunted the runner to third. One out man on third. Pauley who hasn't pitched in a while then got the next batter to pop up to second baseman Larkin. Two outs man still on third. Pauley then coaxed the next batter to hit a short fly ball that SS Holochor called for but then was called off by the CovCath center fielder (the CF was the correct player to take the fly ball as he was coming in) but the ball hit the heal of his glove and bounced out (note not wanting to use this as a excuse but the wind was really gusting today). Runner from third scored and the hitter was of course safe at first. Pauley, who I mentioned hasn't pitched a lot this season, look to me at least to be visibly upset by the play, and he wasn't the same the rest of the inning, as Campbell County next three or four players each hit him hard and finally Coach Krumps brought in Nutini who retired the Camels not only in the second but the rest of the game, but the damage was done and Campbell led 4-1. The Campbell County pitcher had an outstanding game, and his curve ball was deadly and he had the CovCath batters off stride all night. Congrats to the Camels.....

 

CovCath looked and played tired today, as this is the ninth game since last Monday with only Thursday off.

 

CovCath plays an outstanding Mason (Ohio) team at CovCath on Tuesday and then Scott (Kenton). Personally I think a rain out or two would help this team out right now.....

You almost had it right but the first batter Nutini faced lined a single to right center to score the fourth run. Camels had a chance to add to it with two hard hit singles in the sixth with only one out but failed to score. When the Camels play good defense they are a very good team. Jordan Woodruff pitched another gem tonight.

Actually it was the third inning that the Camels scored the four runs. After the error, Brandon Griffin doubled off the fence and that was followed by an Austin Studer double in nearly the same spot. Travis Hurd then hit the single to plate the fourth run. Catcher Tim Sampson started the inning with a double leading off the innning. Camels are now 9-3, with Mason Co. coming to town tomorrow. A good game between two class programs. Junior Jordan Woodruff went the distance for the Camels scattering four Cov. Cath hits and improving his record to 4-1.

Wow kind of surprised by this score. Great win for the Camels. They look to be the favorite in the 10th.

 

Covcath will rebound. Playing 9 games in a week is tough.

Campbell is a solid team. And today proved they might be one of the top teams in NKY. This is a CCH Campbell thread though so I'm not going to get in to the GRC CC-who's better debate.

They are ranked 3rd in there district...record wise against district opponents, they will have to fight to get out of districts.

Agreed. It does sound like they picked up a very solid win against Cov Cath although I do not know a whole lot about them. Congrats to CC. GRC and CC play this Saturday I believe.

:thumb: BTW CCH is one of the 2 favored to win the 9th region. They are #12 in the state right now and top 20 every year. This is a very solid win for the Camels.

This may not be directly tied but I know the 10th and 9th regions played in the semistate last year. Do you or anybody know if it is the same way this year or if it's different?
