Nine of the top 10 I can live with, but Stepp over Brooks and Hill?

Here's an addendum within the accompanying story:

Also receiving votes for coach of the year were Covington Holmes' David Henley, June Buchanan's Gary Stepp, Clark County's Scott Humphrey, Central Hardin's J.C. Wright, Cumberlands' Jerry Edwards, Lexington Tates Creek's Joe Pat Covington, Christian County's Kerry Stovall, and Bishop Brossart's Mike Code.

Also receiving votes for player of the year were Jeremy Anderson of Warren Central; Matt Fraliex of Caldwell County; Darius Miller, Mason County; Ty Proffitt, South Laurel; and Matt Walls of Scott County.

How did Mackey not get any votes for POY?

Obviously not everyone feels the same way you do about Mackey. No big deal. People just did not think he was that good.

This makes Jeremy Anderson not making first team easier to bear. Hearty congrats to Coach Riley!

Though I don't really understand how Billy Hicks got zero votes.

Surprised no "Hill didn't make first team?!?!?!" comments yet.

Congrats too all the players. Especially Preston Knowles of GRC. making 1st team......your dreams are coming true.:thumb:

Hicks wasn't nominated, therefore he couldn't get any votes.

Don't shoot the messenger -- when I went in to vote, I pulled down the coaches box to select Hicks, and he wasn't there. Ridiculous, in my opinion.

How is Billy Hicks not coach of the year? He should be the run away winner.

It's a "vote-swapping" culture.

This is a joke. Mackey doesn't get a POY vote and Miller isn't on the first team. Did the people that voted ever see them play? If they weren't the best players in the state, they were at least top 5!!! I'm just shocked.

Jeremy Anderson is 1st team in my opinion!

Bud Mackey didnt get any POY votes because his teammate Walls got them all.
