That's just it ... I'm not taking anything away from what Scott County accomplished this season. You simply act as if I am.

 

But, judging from some of your comments, it's almost as you insist on acting like the Cardinals did it with sort of a ragtag group led by a magician coach and a senior guard that elevated good, but not great, talent into a state champion. I just don't see it that way. The Cardinals were one of the most talented teams that this state has seen in some time. I'm giving them significant credit for that, more than you seem to be.

 

1) Scott County was a very good team because they worked hard and developed their skills as well as being a pretty athletic group. The players really put fourth great effort all year to become what they became.

2) The job Coach Hicks did was pretty amazing to accomplish what he did. Scott Co beat several great out of state teams and took on every really good team in the state this year and beat all of them, including playing in by far the toughest region in the state this season. You act like any old coach could have done what he did.

3) You have taken away from Scott Co beating Huntington and made excuses as to why it happened saying stuff like they had distractions or whatever.

I just dont understand your dislike for so many people in the state.

Not exactly. Hicks is a great coach and I've never said otherwise, but it's also true that he had more talent to work with than anyone in the state this season. Scott County's season was a tribute to its talent and coaching.

Scott County had more talent because Coach Hicks was able to develop it and the players worked heard towards that. Without Coach Hicks they would not have had the most talent.

I beg to differ. Scott County is the state's best program ... I don't have a problem saying that, and I've said repeatedly that this team was one of the best and most talented we've seen in this state in years. Just because I don't see everything through red-colored glasses, I'm some sort of malcontent.

I seen a lot of Holmes games and well, Greg Rice should be on this team somewhere. Also Todd Jacobs had a great year on a team that was in the top 10 in the state all year long. The people who voted on this must not have seen many NKY games, because these two should have at least been HM.
