Anyone here heard of Shaker Run in OHio?

How can you say CCH 1-10 has more talent than Holmes, when Holmes subs took CCH to the wire on their home floor?

Yea it relates to Holmes but if we're going to talk about who has more talent, Holmes or CCH, that should be a different thread.

Why is CCH being brought up in a Holmes/NCC thread?? Let's stay on topic guys because until they meet this year, both at full strength, we won't know which team has the more talent or work ethic.

Solid win for the Dawgs. Good to see them take care of business with or without Keirnan being in NCC's lineup. Seems like they're really pulling it all together but we'll have to wait and see. Once again, Holmes bench keeps producing, including 8th grader Elijah Pittman, which is a really good sign and is going to play a huge part in the Dawgs post season run. Holmes (17-8) - Avery 1 0 2, Jefferson 1 0 2, Arnold 1 0 2, Henderson 4 2 10, Nelson 1 0 2, Hill 6 4 16, Rice 10 0 20, Pittman 0 4 4. Totals: 24 10 58. 8 guys in the box score and 3 guys in double figures. If you ask me, it sounds like they're playing more as a team than ever before and not relying on only one person to carry the load like earlier on.

In the 9th I'd say Holmes being at full strength is definetly the hottest team in the region. Have won 5 in a row and are really getting things together and playing TEAM ball. Their bench is also contributing which is a good sign.

A good sign though from the game is the balanced scoring: HOLMES (55): Avery 1 1 3, Jefferson 2 1 6, Arnold 0 2 2, Henderson 5 3 14, Nelson 0 1 1, Hill 5 5 16, Rice 3 2 9, Clark 1 2 4. Totals 17 17 55. Holmes bench is starting to contribute as well which is going to be huge come tournament time.

Highlands is a team who likes to really slow the ball down and make the game a defensive battle. You'll never see a game with them in the 60's or 70's. They just don't have the horses or talent to put up points like that so they work the clock and look for the best offensive shot. Plus this is only Holmes second game back at full strength. I dont think Coach Henley is sweating too much over a 14 point win. Does he think they can do batter? Absolutley. But right now I think his main focus is just getting not only Duran but also the whole team back in the swing of things and playing with one another at both ends of the floor.

That would be impossible. The #1 and #2 seed are always on the opposite side of the bracket. The only possible way for them to meet would be in the semi's but even that is highly unlikely.

Holmes-Covcath is the best possible 9th region title game IMO. Both teams have tremendous respect for one another which adds even more hype when those two take the court agianst eachother.

Duran Arrez and Austin all took the loss to Dixie last year pretty hard. I doubt very seriously they're going to let the same thing happen 2 years in a row. Duran is the leader out there that they've been needing this whole season which is goiing to take a lot of pressure off of Hill's shoulders. But as you said I guess we just have to sit back and find out what happens. But if Holmes is playing in the region title game on their home floor I'm banking on them no matter who they're against.

Wow nice assessment. I couldn't have said it any better. I agree with practically everything said in that last post. Having DJ on the floor bringing the ball up is a huge advantage. If you try to key on him in the last seconds, there waiting is Hill, Henderson, and Rice.

Holmes very rarely loses on their home floor. Which is why I feel come region time when they have gotten back in to the swing of things, nobody outside of CCH will be able to stop them, but to be honest, I don't even think CCH is going to be able to stop them. Let's not forget the last time these two met on Holmes home floor with the full squad, Holmes did beat them and even without DJ for most of the game.

Anyone think Holmes has a bigger advantage come region time considering it's at their place?

Any of you who think Holmes being back at full strength isn't bad for the rest of the 9th region, is crazy. DJ hasn't played all year, yea, but by the time districts and region roll around they will have had a month to play together, and you also have to remember these young men have been playing together all their lives, so it's not like it will make that big of a difference.

Holmes won 65-47 and Hill came off the bench with 22 points. Henderson had 17 points and had 3 nice dunks. IMO this isn't good for other nky teams as they will get Dj back Monday as well. Holmes is getting ready to get hot, long as they keep playing together which isn't good for other nky teams.

Being back at full strength will really tell us a ton about this team. Even being somewhat at full strength against Newport really showed how good Holmes can be as long as they play together. IMO Dj will be a huge addition. The bench has gotten a lot of action as well, so IMO Holmes is without a doubt the deepest team in the region now.
